Output shaft end play is controlled by the selective snap ring up front. The copper washer behind (attached to the front planetary) is not selective, however, over time they can wear down and very slightly affect output shaft end play.

I have to adjust mine on my 19675 valiant. cant get to it unless i drop the transmission. serious pain in the butt.

My 904 lost reverse. Problem with mine is when I tighten the adjustment stud it goes way way in almost past the nut.

The old stuff relies on so many mechanical parts. I imagine modern trans is simpler thanks to computer controls.

Transmissions seems more complicated than engines especially the ones that weren’t electronically controlled.

So instructions on 727, 904, and a999 are both bands 8ftlbs tighten, then mark and back off two full turns, ? We're did you come up with four?

See the big spring in front of the band. Remove it. Your second gear engagement was very hard...or quick which ever you wish to say

I just reassembled my 904. I did this air check and all was well except the rear clutch. I can sometimes hear it engage but i also hear air coming out near the input shaft area, is this normal?

3 ton press didn't work. needed to disassemble and assemble on a much larger press.

I might be wrong but he said "were gonna assemble the rear clutch." But the title of this is 904 torqueflite front clutch reassembly. Someone miss labeled the video.

That didn't look like a torque wrench. I guess you use a wrench so much you have 6 foot-lbs in your bones, right?

I am replacing bearing on 2010 Corolla. I cannot find parts for inner and outer seals and the dust shield, not even on Toyota websites. Any idea where to find the right parts, Toyota has been no help. They were damaged when I removed bearing and needed to be replaced anyway but now I cannot find replacement. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

I have a 2000 Corolla and I am replacing the wheel bearings, How do I remove the front inner wheel seal and more importantly, the inner dust seal? It has two grooves, do I use a snap ring plier wrench? Thanks

I just finished this job on both sides your vids were very helpful and precise, if I were to make one point you needed to include how far to drive the grease seals in, all the way to the race or even with the edge of the hub. Thanks again.

My sentiments exactly. I would put in some grease in the bearings just to make sure that it is well lubricated.

The grease will runt out of the bearing and the bearing will cease. I am re-doing the bearing job with the seals.

I only installed the bearing, no inner or outer shields went back in. It drives OK. is this hazardous or dangerous? please let me know.

I paid Midas over five hundred dollars to replace both of my 03 corolla front wheel bearings. I don't have this kind of equipment.
