Output shaft end play is controlled by the selective snap ring up front. The copper washer behind (attached to the front planetary) is not selective, however, over time they can wear down and very slightly affect output shaft end play.

My 904 lost reverse. Problem with mine is when I tighten the adjustment stud it goes way way in almost past the nut.

So instructions on 727, 904, and a999 are both bands 8ftlbs tighten, then mark and back off two full turns, ? We're did you come up with four?
@CoroPlanesLLC3 жыл бұрын
That is so he can sell more rebuilds... LOL... low pressure will smoke the rear band and you will be back to see him for another rebuild.
@joemancini3258 Жыл бұрын
2 turns on the rear band if it's a single wrap, 4 turns for a double wrap. 6 ft lbs not 8 - 72 inch lbs

See the big spring in front of the band. Remove it. Your second gear engagement was very hard...or quick which ever you wish to say

If you remove the ACCUMULATOR spring you will have a lot harsher shift.

Don't you need the output shaft to be loaded , like standing it up vertical
@autoinstruction5 жыл бұрын
The output shaft is secured with a ball bearing in the tailshaft housing. This locates the output shaft. If tailshaft housing is off, end-play will be incorrect.

I just reassembled my 904. I did this air check and all was well except the rear clutch. I can sometimes hear it engage but i also hear air coming out near the input shaft area, is this normal?

Having the same issue what did you find? If I have the torque converter installed it air checks fine, however I feel that there still may be an issue.

@onebladeprop5 жыл бұрын
Ok so the one he says goes to the front clutch my manual calls the rear clutch. Disassemble it(yay), remove the clutches and this is the one you have to compress the spring to remove the piston. There are two seals that I forgot to replace. seems to work now.
@deanv86635 жыл бұрын
@@onebladeprop I believe the leakage to have been a normal function of the transmission. I tore mine back apart and could find no fault. This was a couple of years ago and the vehicle is still driving without any problems. Hope this is helpful @onebladeprop.

I am replacing bearing on 2010 Corolla. I cannot find parts for inner and outer seals and the dust shield, not even on Toyota websites. Any idea where to find the right parts, Toyota has been no help. They were damaged when I removed bearing and needed to be replaced anyway but now I cannot find replacement. Any help would be appreciated greatly.

My sentiments exactly. I would put in some grease in the bearings just to make sure that it is well lubricated.
