One of the best live concerts ever broadcast on television. They played from 4 o'clock in the morning. Everyone was totally thrilled. That was the start of their success in Europe.

Billy Gibbons appears to be playing his '59 Les Paul Sunburst, known as "Pearly Gates". The 1980 Billy Gibbons depicted here would probably never believe that Pearly Gates, which he paid $250 for, and other '58-'60 Sunburst Les Pauls would appreciate exponentially in value to the point that at present, that particular guitar is probably worth north of a million bucks--maybe even 2 million like the '59 LP that Kirk Hammett bought that used to belong to Peter Green and Gary Moore.

This Dutchy was 14 and saw them on German TV started every weekend at 23h..love at first hearing..never stopped...ZZ Top you didn´t have to shake it but you did, you did and I thank you! Salute you!

I saw them in the 70's playing mostly Tres Hombres and Fandango... Phenomenal! Soon after the songs left the great Frank Beard with little to do. They slowly lost energy and couldn't get back to their 70's early 80's peak!

I was 13 when Eliminator came out which is to say I experienced puberty through the Legs video. Since then and now just appreciate them for being a really great blues rock band.

I would have been 6 then. I do remember the Legs video. I was obsessed with drums even at that age and watched MTV all day everyday. Learned to play drums by watching MTV in fact.

Thanks for the video. This is one dad and i would play on the front porch during storms when i was a kid. Mamas got a squeeze box, lean on me just popped into my mind. They were in steady rotation.
