@clothpillow7218 it's accessible from the Artemis beta program however since the lead coder form it has not been in a position to do much for years at this point, I would be recommending against pursuing application unless you are fine with a working but quirky script. That being said, I am working with cheerkin to make a similar thing based on APCK, and if things go well it would actually be superior to what can be done using Artemis turrets.

bruh, wtf, how to do survive that, thats likely firing from over 75km, 50km at least, thats INSANE and with that damage the defensive, just imagine that if at that range it misses by like 20-30m at most at about 60km, imagine when firing at like 5km or so, keep in mind the longest you can fire a gun from in the base game is a railgun at 2km, and this is literally doing suppresive fire to capital ships, or they warp away or they die
@mobiuscoreindustries2 ай бұрын
@ignaciocorreaalvano648 tbh it is very specifically a system that has to rely on either some extremely skewed server settings or (in the case here) relay targeting where another grid is spotting the target for the system to take aim at. It also need modded weapons that are compatible with such capabilities. Railguns and kingsword from the AWE pack have the capability for 50km travel distance and with high muzzle velocity they only need to spend a dozen seconds of flight to hit the target. Still makes it basically impossible to nail something that is accelerating and changing direction but anything not accelerating is going to have a bad time. One of the things I pair with such systems (in the theoretical, I would be fileding them) are guided missiles and/or drone swarm interceptor tied to a speedbreaker to quickly move in the target area. Unlike these un-guided long range shots, these can hit maneuvering and accelerating targets. And it puts the enemy in a bind since if they ever stop maneuvering to adress the threat of the drones, they will end up exposing themselves to the suppression bombardement. Though in reality the speedbreaker drones and missiles are by far the superior and most practical option as they can actually self sustain themselves and also identify targets once in engagement instead of needing some relay drone to tell them where the target is.

@mobiuscoreindustries4 ай бұрын
@@koneeche Its slightly intentional in the sense that their trajectory and design failsafes are made to help enable detonation even if they are destroyed, depending on the circumstances. For one on planets their approach trajectory at long distance means they have a good chance of hitting or at least falling close to their targets if they are destroyed. They airburst so they don't need to make contact, just get close enough, and since the hydrogen is part of the 2 step detonation if enemy bullets cause only one of the tanks to rupture, or they end up landing next to where another missile crashed, it will cause the nuke to go off needless to say it does make them somewhat of an occupational hazard so I would not recomend hanging onto them in the formation for too long when traveling

You should try and build like a system that could defend against your own creations using minimal recourses. Something like small anti-missile missiles or smt. Like for instance realistically if this carrier would enter this area while knowing a drone system like this was around, it would have more defences that are able to counter it, still keep the PD for drones that are not intercepted. Essentially just more layers to the defences.
@mobiuscoreindustries5 ай бұрын
@indigenous.rabbit2877 I did that already did weapons of the sort. Though nowadays unless you have weaponcore targetting it's very iffy to defend against more than one weapon, but any form of guided weapons can feasibly work in an intercept role. Yes in truth the carrier would not have been static in a real encounter. It's defenses were actually quite good at dispatching the drones and missiles, it just eventually got saturated. Just like with missile intercept, the issue is and always be targetting. The range is limited and the capabilities of engagement for multiple targets is always a question of mostly luck in vanilla.

@@qWeR1111-n2j I am thought the issue is just that I too am learning and changing the way I go about doing things. I also focus almost exclusively on either individual, usually not dockable LG drones or swarms of disposable sub units, giving a usually sizable gap in my practice with stuff like docking graphs and carrier operations. And to give an idea I have the plan to release a set of easy to use APCK based modules but I have now basically rebuilt them 3 times already as I learned of better ways to use them. First iteration was manual refresh, connector load and launch. Second iteration which you are seeing a part of here in early concept was using timers to automate the building but had key issues when it came to ensuring proper timing as well as to make more complex systems like swarm drones and nukes work in survival. Current iteration I actually partnered with EXODAR in order to use a build and inventory management designed specifically for all things APCK, enabling after some setup to basically just ask the script to make 43 of a specific unit type and it will just do it. The complex setup is going to be alleviated by the module approach. Basically I did all the setup and component calculations so you will not have to (I also have a nifty excel sheet I will let people use to generate their loadouts more easily too) Work makes stuff go slow, but at least I am at the phase where the stuff I am missing is primarily related to things like TGP and making it easier to add it to ships as well as bugs related to the command interface modules.

At first, I thought maybe you were using mods because you mentioned weapon's core. Does this work without the mod? If so, looks like you put great thought into the script! I really like how the missiles stayed in low gravity at first, and then when close enough to their targets pitched down steeply. If it depends on mods though, I'll just stick to using ai blocks as they are also useful in the vanilla and even the scriptless keen servers for that matter. I have a fully automatic ai missile launcher that works reliably and can be scaled for many missiles at once. they also work as "mines" if they find no target.. But about 6 years ago I won a build off contest using Whip's Optically guided missile script, and I never thought I'd see the day they made these ai seekers but yeah they are incredibly simple now. As long as you designate a coordinate within a 2.5km radius the ai will find a target and it can take over guidance. :) Anyway, large volley's like this work best since turrets can shoot down missiles. I have a sped up video too, I was testing my sub 20kpcu missile printing mining frigate's weapons made for Keen Servers, and it only fires one at a time, but can still start landing hits due to it's fairly high semi automatic fire rate. Just have to wait for the welding to be complete and the missiles are very reliable. Gaaah, anyway now I'm geeking out, but I just meant to say that was a pretty cool looking salvo bro!
@mobiuscoreindustries9 ай бұрын
Thanks for the thorough reply! Here is some more details | Does this work without the mod? Yep. I use WC out of convenience really. Through something like TGP I can use raycasting cameras to lock onto multiple moving targets as well as cast static points on the ground for the bases. When I was testing the system, I was using that vanilla static point method and casting random points on the ground to verify it could work. The role of WC was just to make it easy on myself as it would allow me to track enemies in range without bothering setting up too complex of a tracking system. The other 2 mods used here were an engine mod and a speed mod. The engine mod was there because I didn't want to bother with fuel economy, and I wanted to use the small missiles I was developing. The all vanilla Wyrm missile has the endurance needed to strike on a good chunk of a whole planet and I already demonstrated its capabilities for orbital strikes. Its just 2 small grid small hydrogen tanks will only carry you that far. The speed mod also was there so I would not need to wait 2 hours for the missiles to arrive. I usually employ the large grid "equivalent" for such stupendously long range fires, because even a small hydrogen tank will take you comfortably around a planet and its moon. | I really like how the missiles stayed in low gravity at first, and then when close enough to their targets pitched down steeply. The updated CD for these missiles (and probably all my APCK missiles going forward) implements a top-down attack offset even if the target isn't far enough to trigger the circumnavigation guidance. This makes for some great long range artillery and it assists greatly in complementing their unique thrust method. | Anyway, large volley's like this work best since turrets can shoot down missiles. One of the core advantage of loitering munitions, being the ability to stockpile missiles for an alpha strike or to fire at more targets at once. This is even more important on welder/launcher/PB strained servers since you do not want a ton of individual launchers taking useful block space but probably still want to oversize a salvo if needed. The other being that the missile will return to you if all targets are destroyed, and follow you around if it has no targets. Not so much here but for space based missiles there is a fair bit of missiles that come back to me after the target got demolished by others. And in space its entirely possible to be in a ship in a "hot zone" having a few drones or missiles pre-emptively deployed so that you can always be ready to respond to a surprise attack
@zaflowgalactic9 ай бұрын
@@mobiuscoreindustries Yeah, planets can cause a lot of complexity, hydrogen is the obvious fuel choice for missiles, for many reasons. I've got a very compact small grid missile on the workshop that can be fired repeatedly with one welder and fit through a sliding door. Sooo simple, but there is room onboard for two more blocks that could be used for either a second auto pilot phase, or other functions. I could also get rid of my target missed condition event block, that after a lock is acquired, if it flys further than 2.5km the missile self destructs, but I did this for server cleanliness. Basically, I made very cheap little six warhead ai missiles that are plug and play, and are just meant for outreaching railguns. Potentially maybe 9 could be printed from a single welder but I've never attempted that because in actual pvp encounters targets either get to 100m/s or jump away when they see missiles. I tend not to attack static grids because they are either owned by new players, or covered with a safe zone anyway. I mean, I am also talking about mostly playing in the highly populated Keen servers with the 20k pcu limits. I used to play in Embrace the Lag server, where we could use all manner of scripts, even the Eye of Sauron for getting target locations and guiding missiles, but that was a long time ago and I've become a gentler Space Engineer lol.
@mobiuscoreindustries9 ай бұрын
@@zaflowgalactic kek same dynamic for me These missiles in question are capable of welding 4 per welder (mounted externally, at an angle), and they have 2 small hydrogen tanks and 4 warheads each, with both lidar and internal proximity detonation. I also have a micro-nuke variant that is the same size, and trades regular warheads for an item nuke system. I also have an internal bay variant, which is smaller and has only 3 warheads and one hydrogen tank, but it is faster and 2 missiles can fit per door and per welder. Each has proximity detonation for near misses and you can call for remote detonation of all missiles if needed to clean them up. OBVS here one of the big advantages of APCK here is that since I can call for the wingman, I can recall missiles to formation without needing to destroy them. So if a ship decides to disengage or jumps away, the missiles are just going to come back. Only current "downside" RN is every missile that reaches less than 1km from the target switches to a far more agressive thrust regime to be far harder to avoid and as a result I need to reset their sp-limit manually so they do not go burning off their fuel too quickly
