This brought back bad memories. I was once on a well established planetary base, we had the whole area secured, no problems. One day, a single small ship got through our defenses and made a few laps of the planet before we finally took it down. The next day, we were going about our business when hundreds of PMWs started raining down. Completely annihilated all of our planetary and orbital defenses, leaving us wide open for an enemy supercapital (on the server, we allowed each "faction" to make one absurdly large supercapital ship) to finish the job.

After locating a colony of alien spiders on Cascadia, a group of space marines decided to sufficiently tac-nuke the planet from orbit to ensure complete pacification.

It is the only way, after all, to make sure the Xenos, the heretic and the mutant are properly... managed

looks beautiful those purple beams coming from the actual planet
@mobiuscoreindustries2 жыл бұрын
Each of those is a 1200mm railgun projectile fired from the planet's defense grid. These (as well as the control bunker with all the sensors) was what was targeted by the bombardement. Flying a ship through there was basically impossible. The best I managed was barely getting a recon fighter down to the ground and it necessitated intense maneuvers and a lot of luck. This was supposed to be a setpeice used in a bigger project but the replay tool was broken so I need to wait until that particular issue gets fixed

I'm thinking of trying out cool scenarios like this when I get space engineers. How is the learning curve?
@mobiuscoreindustries2 жыл бұрын
Well for this, I'd say it's pretty high just because while this is a strike spread across half a planet, it's also a precision strike because each missile is aiming at one of the defense installation. However the investment level to start launching warheads on foreheads is actually pretty low. Trust me once you get the basics down you will be on your way to optimizing warcrimes in no time!

I know you get this on every video but is there an ETA on that script?
@mobiuscoreindustries2 жыл бұрын
Its not clear at the moment, keleios is in the process of rewriting everything as the script has hit the maximum character limit in its current state which means expanding features and fixing bugs can't happen until the code is optimized. Actually that would be Artemis Vs a very modified Aryx turret with altered config for 50km range, stupid fire rate and ridiculous turret rotation speed
