Hey man, are you still using this? In the newest versions of SSL with SSL LINK it doesn't seem to follow on the controller when using diff scenes. Worked great before, I've tried with remote bank on and off. Is there anyway to makes this work now? Especially using layer 3 using the plugin layer. Ugh it would be perfect. Any ideas? Thanks alot!

In my 360 mixer panel the daw or plugin mode doesnt even show I think they removed it in the newest update Currently my UF8 shows all tracks and track names even with no plugin on my tracks but it doesnt show the track color. My UC1 doesnt auto bank/follow and only shows track1 track2 etc instead of the actual true name of the track

Okay I fixed it 2 things to make sure Layer 3 needs to be set to Plugin-In Mixer (NOT STUDIO ONE) and make sure you are using the VST3 plugin format not the AU format else it wont work!

thanks! there is a hornets normalizer. whats the difference between this two? please reply thank you
@PintoMusicHTX2 ай бұрын
Some difference. I think the normalizer will adjust the peaks to a given level. King staging maintains the peaks, therefore maintaining the dynamic range between the lowest and the lowest part. I hope that makes sense.

I think your video is wrong. Where you say "Select DAW 3 as Studio One" I think is not the setting you are looking for. I believe you meant to go to the UF8 setup tab and make sure Layer 3 is selected as Plugin-in Mixer. I was going crazy trying to replicate what you were doing and it doesn't work.

Hi, thank you for this video! Im having trouble with my UF8 setting. I followed your settings but my UF8 doesn't follow track and also the track color doesn't show up on UF8., and plugin buttons doesn't work as well. Track follow and track color seems to work if I set the layer to "Plug-in Mixer", but then those tracks without SSL Plugins won't showup on my UF8... Does your UF8 with latest update still work as the same?

Why you its -18 on individual tracks and -12 on master? and one think I didn't understood even after you do all the leveling it peaks at the master and again at some point in time you solo all the track and render the audio you test and the mastering fader doesn't peak really confusing, please explain?
@ariahrendt61666 ай бұрын
You use a VU scale of -18. Means that the needle hits 0 when the track level is -18dB. Which is pretty quiet for a record. Then additional you reduce the level via gain input in the mixer channel. In some cases you get a result -18-13dB = -31dB. So can you tell me what is the good thing to work with that massive gain reduction? Technically it means that you reduces very important bit resolution information for all further stages like plugins or volume changes. What you are doing here is the worst you can do in terms of audio quality. Again, you reduce a nearly perfect signal for around 30dB, new rendered. That means you steal digital information, bit resolution from the signal. So why do you think, a following EQ or Compressor or Reverb sounds better now, when a signal has less information to work with than before / with more information? It doesn't makes sence.

1. Update SSL 360 and Controller: Ensure that SSL 360 and your controller are up to date with the latest firmware or software releases. Navigate to the settings menu and locate the option to update SSL 360 and the controller. Set and Select Plugin Mixer Layer: 2. Access the SSL 360 control interface on your DAW. In the control interface, set the Plugin Mixer Layer as the active layer. This may involve selecting a specific mode or option within SSL 360. Place SSL Strip on Plugins in DAW: 3. Open your DAW and load the SSL strip plugin onto the desired audio channels or tracks. Ensure that SSL strip is properly inserted into the signal chain for each channel where you want its effects. Voila: Verify that the SSL strip is functioning correctly on your selected channels. Test the SSL strip's features and controls to ensure it's producing the desired audio effects. Additional Note: Keep in mind that in DAW mode, color indications might not be available. This is normal for certain configurations. Focus on the functionality and controls provided by the SSL strip.

Покажите, пожалуйста, как использовать -18db в каналах микшера Studio One при микшировании, как в аналоговых консолях😊🙏

Does it make sense to simply normalise all tracks to -18db at the same time, then you’ve got all tracks ready for the plugin chain. And you would maintain that -18db through your effect chain on each channel so your plugins are getting the volume they need. Any volume automation for individual tracks that isn’t corrective but for effect could be done on a gain plugin at the end of the effects chain on the -18db signal. Then simply use the faders on individual tracks post plugin chain and only for balancing. Mix buses faders can be used to control the levels of each group hitting the master bus if needed. I’m wondering if there is a flaw in this approach or if it would work? Thanks for your great and thought provoking videos!

Hi. Probably not. It’s all content dependent. Piano vs perc not the same. Some tracks you want to maintain the dynamic range.

Is there a way to revert back or can you just add it and convert it again? Thanks in advance my brother.
