(Proficiency Scales) Do you have a blank copy + example you wouldn’t mind sharing?

I love all of your planning and organizing videos! I am surprised at a class size of 32 students! Is that all in one class or do you have 2 classes each day?

I laughed when you said “they wouldn’t change fall break… but if they did” because last year 2 weeks before school started they found mold in multiple schools in our school district. They had to rearrange a lot of our dates because they had to postpone the start of the school year by 2 weeks.

Hello, I want to tell you that I look forward to seeing your videos because you show a true love for teaching. Please do not feel that you are going to share something that someone may not want to see it. I know that everyone who clicks on your videos are looking for ideas and everything teaching. You never have to apologize for sharing about your love for teaching! I think you are awesome at whatever it is you decide to share. I particularly love watching how organized you are! Again, you are awesome!

Can you do a walkthrough on setting up and using planbook especially since you also use a paper planner?

I'd love more on the library. How do you train the librarians and how long are they a librarian? Do you use a tracker to see who got what? How often can they get new books? The new books haven't held up as well in recent years. 😢 I need a better system and like that you have librarians check conditions and stuff. Do they see it when they checked out?

I love how you have resources ready for the new teachers on your team. I love your videos. I do a lot of things similar to how you do them because I watched your videos for years while I was in college. Thank you.

Rime magic is best for third graders who are really struggling. I have found it was best for my kids who could decode up to like blends, recognized their vowels and it provided a strategy for breaking down large words

25:06 I had a high school art teacher who was strict about what type of eraser to use. One of her assignments in the gradebook with Class Supplies (me thinking: WTF) It was the white eraser, but it was a certain brand and couldn't find it anywhere, so I grabbed what I could, and I believe it was like 15/20. She was way too serious about things. I didn't like her teaching at all, either. We couldn't listen to music, and she didn't play music while we were doing things independently. You look like an amazing teacher, tough, and I would have loved to have you!

Sticking with the Spooky Theme, what are your thoughts on the Goosebumps series?
@JennuineTeaching3 күн бұрын
I have them in my class because they are popular. However, I do want to go through and read them myself to make sure that they’re not too scary for some of my kids. In my 17 years of teaching, though, I’ve never had any complaints about goosebumps books and the kids that don’t like scary things don’t gravitate towards those books anyways.

why do you buy school supplies?
@JennuineTeaching3 күн бұрын
I don’t buy school supplies. These are leftovers from the previous school year. Once school starts students bring in supplies to replenish the supplies that I gave to them at the beginning of the school year.

If I was still in elementary I would look at this planner… however, I’m in middle school now so I need very specific things so I use agendio and create my own planner. We also have to turn our plans so I do them digitally and print them. Last year I started a new position so it was mostly me learning the content. This year I am going to incorporate more small group instruction so I can make sure all of my kids are getting the content and I know this class has more behavior… so planning ahead!!! 💜

? For FAQ: What do you do when it comes to subs with your slides? Do you share the file as is or do you copy it to your school drive and then share it? Do your team rely on any of your slides or anything? Also how do you make your plans for subs or any tips for that?

💻 I hope you have an awesome summer. We are facing major expectations, a heavier workload, more daily data required, less support, and have lost many teachers. Watching your videos give me hope. I needed the laid back and calm presentation to gain some ideas. My technology hasn't worked in the last few years, so I haven't used slides like most teachers. So everything you teach or do is on slides except anchor charts? Thanks.

Can I just say that I love the calm in your voice in all of your content. Even when you're excited, which totally comes across, your voice is still calm. I don't have a paper planner per say because we have to upload our lesson plans to a district platform, which I am embarrassingly horrible at, but I like the Post-it idea for my personal vertical planner. I get it about the pencil pouch for specific pens, pencils, and highlighters. I have a huge one with ALL the stuff and 3 "specialized" ones. 😆😆😆 I crack myself up. Thanks for the content. Enjoy the rest of your summer! ☀️ 🍹 📚

I remember when Ticonderoga had #2 soft pencils compared to the #2 HB pencils. Another good brand of erasers is Staedtler. They are more expensive, but they are great for cleaning up stray marks or mistakes. Enjoy your last month of vacation.

Great video! I think everyone in primary should have to teach kinder or first to see how learning plus classroom management all begins/comes together. I taught preschool through second and every grade is so different.

Hey Jennifer! Great video! My question is…How do you insert the content you're teaching? For example, do you link all the lessons on every slide and does it take you to the lesson for the day (Curriculum page)? Or do you insert the lesson on the slide without links? I'm curious bcs when I use slides, I do both…link and insert a worksheet for example. But what happens when you need to show something not on the slides? Do you shut the proyector off or keep it on with the objective and talk about the lesson? I'm hoping this makes sense😊….💻 Ive been teaching for 9 yrs including the upcoming year but I still find myself looking for what works best for me. Thanks!

You have hard covers in your materials for your machine. I would look into recovering the Minecraft book since it's such a popular one. I think you can just attach the inside fly leaf papers to the hard cover. If that works you can also repurpose thick cardboard to make more covers.
