Cool looking and nice fab job, but the height of that thing sucks and wouldn't be worth the limitations to me. Good thing it holds 2 bikes, maybe one will survive the first tree limb.

I think it depends where you are going to take it, people put bikes on 4x4 roofs and take it camping all the time.

Really nice. Now fabricate it in China (before somebody else does now that the secret is out) and you may be sitting on a gold mine. Also, don't forget the safety aspect. The mouth breathing morons that steal dirtbikes will never be able to figure out how to get them off.

Very cool, thank you for dropping I had a question about trailering the bikes at an angle like that for extended periods. I roughed out a similar angled rig for a hauler truck bed setup. I got feedback from a bunch of bike guys claiming that angling the bikes would hurt the suspension, especially over bumpy terrain. Have you had any indication of that so far?

Absolutely amazing project. I'm impressed by your persistence and creativity. You've aproached this very professionally! For added stability of the bike, I can recommend a system like the Moto Cinch, that hook onto the footpegs. I've been using a similar system for both my dirt bikes, and that is the ONLY way I attach them to my trailer. No more straps! Works incredibly well, and is very reliable.

Super cool. Def. not mad at this. My buddy had a trailer with a shoe like that. ATK bike shoe in the us. That design has been around for a long time. Worked well on an open trailer. Lots of cheaper knock offs these days.

@@moabman6803 why was it a pain out of interest? We will only be using it on certain occasions, this powertrain had had a fair bit of testing with it and hasn’t had any dramas!

@@DesignedandBuilt Getting the system to work reliably day in and day out was difficult. Especially keeping the injector clear was difficult. It kept clogging due to calcification or debris. For a race car i would do it again. For a daily i would be hesitant unless used as a secondary charge cooler.

as your carriage lock is engaged under spring pressure it needs to be in a failsafe position which it isn't now, if the spring fails it can disengage with vibration and gravity, easy to solve by having it engage with a slot in the carriage.

Don't ever fully weld a side without tacking each corner first, like you did while assembling the frame on the floor, not good practice. That's why it pulled out of square. Also what's the point in checking if the floor is level when it's only used as a flat surface.
@DesignedandBuilt
@DesignedandBuilt 26 күн бұрын
Yeah mate, I would do it differently if I did it again for sure like I said! If the floor was cooked then the frame would be off as well.
