Anyone know what to do when the groover fills with leather and won't allow any cutting? That little hole has gotten jammed with leather.

Anyone tried soaking the leather in water, then dyeing? How does it turn out?

Hi Joe, my question is, when you apply the dye is the leather supposed to be completely dry?? I have stamped some pendant necklaces and want to dye wear I stamped, I want a natural leather surrounding the design. Thank you!

Joe, tried your method on a Herman Oak belt blank. Disaster. In several spots, the dye seeped in from the side (I squished the excess from the foam brush on the side of the jar) and ruined the blank. Was really disappointed with the results. And used Fiebings neetsfoot oil with sheepskin short while after applying dye (Golden Tan Pro Dye)

I have a questions. I skive diy leather then cut my shape , paint and finish it. After 12 hours I can see that the cut piece has shrunk by about 1 mm around the edges! How can I fix the problem?

Oakleaves and acorns was a popular pattern in the late '20s, '30s and '40s, with the high-brow Jeagers (hunters) of the times... one of whom was Hermann Goring.... I don't attach it as much to the Nazi movement as others do, being of German decent... our family left the old country in the mid 1800's, long before that paper-hanger started causing trouble.
