Joe, tried your method on a Herman Oak belt blank. Disaster. In several spots, the dye seeped in from the side (I squished the excess from the foam brush on the side of the jar) and ruined the blank. Was really disappointed with the results. And used Fiebings neetsfoot oil with sheepskin short while after applying dye (Golden Tan Pro Dye)

I have a questions. I skive diy leather then cut my shape , paint and finish it. After 12 hours I can see that the cut piece has shrunk by about 1 mm around the edges! How can I fix the problem?

I will be making belts , wallets, ( Thanks to your awesome teachings ) I've purchased a couple 3.85 stitching irons, French style from Kevin Lee.
