Should work exactly the same - as always, let me know if there are any Daz items you have problems with and I'll check them out.

This is a VERY busy time of the year for me - if you are willing to wait until after the holidays I'd be glad to make a tutorial, but in the meantime the rule is this: you use link/unlink when an item needs to transfer from one place to the next, and you use attach when the item stays in the same place. If you had a canteen on someone's belt you could attach it, but then they would never be able to drink from it. If you link the item (say to the hip) then you can reach down with one hand and when it's in position you unlink it with the hip and then link with the hand. This linking/unlinking is animatable, and will put a key on the timeline. Again, I can show all this but it will have to be after Christmas at the earliest.

It's hard to keep up but at last I looked the single camera version was completely free with no time constraints (although it has to sit in the queue a bit longer than if you pay for it). But I do know they recently changed it so let me check real quick (embarrassingly enough I'm an admin on the Discord channel).

Okay, checked with my peeps and it's unlimited free amounts except you can only do 15 seconds long. Like most things, it's a gateway drug - if you like it and it works then you will want to pay (the full version is about $15 per month and then you can do two cameras which is much better) and then you'll want a suit and then... I now have two suits and the coil and I'm not quite done yet. LOL. Mocap is one of those things that you always want to keep going and getting better.

Assuming you have the proper animations for the character inside of Daz studio you can export and use them just as you would use animations for a horse. You'll have to bring the character in as "other" (and NOT use Transformer) and thus you won't be able to animate the facial expressions the same way (you could conceivably set up the facial rig and there are tutorials - not mine, but Reallusion - on this process but it's not a cakewalk). If someone put a gun to my head and asked me to animate a centaur WITH facial stuff (using the facial tools inside of iClone) I'd create a hybrid that had both the centaur body (using the Daz animations) and combine it with the appropriate Gen figure, hiding faces as necessary (similar to how I animate the head in the "two heads are better than one" video).

If you install Pillow (and I have videos showing how to do this - look at my Python video list) that will solve the first problem (although you can run the script without it and it just won't fix those maps automatically for you - not a problem to fix them yourself, however). You didn't provide a Daz config file showing where your Daz content is located so it's assuming it's just that root path. If it's not there, you need to tell it in your Daz config file and I talk about this in at least five or ten places - essentially in your Documents directory you need a Dazconig.cfg file with the right paths placed. If you happen to be around for my live stream this afternoon I'll show you the whole process but if you're not you can catch it later on a rewatch so look for it any time after around 4pm EST.

This can occur for a few particular issues, but it would be easiest if you told me *exactly* what you are trying (what specific model you are trying to bring in, including any clothing or other accessories). Most of the time I will have it and can then tell you the precise steps you need to go through. If it's a Daz model that would be great if you could tell me the name(s).

I totally understand, thank you :) I got it to work in the end, exporting the items out individually. as FBXs. When you load the whole outfit in one in Daz and export everything - Transformer doesn't accept it. Which isn't great.

I'm actually going to do a livestream today (well, this afternoon) and I realize your time might not match up - plus, Thanksgiving - but it will be available to watch by this evening and it will show all of this in case you have another outfit like this.

They are baked - iClone/CC has all morphs added to the character (you can see this sometimes when they change the format because it will say "loading in and converting all morphs" when you load in an older format).

Yes, if it's a prop you first need to convert it to clothing (attach it to a character and then convert). You can't weight something that isn't clothing (a prop is just a prop but doesn't have physics).

Well, the hair map is part of the hair. It's just the UV map of the hair (and I have other videos showing how to edit the UV map). If you tell me exactly what hair you are trying I can make a video to show you (just be sure it's NOT a DForce hair - those will not work in CC).

Hmm, you mean regular Daz animations on the timeline? That shouldn't be any different than any other animations. I have a tutorial on doing just that you can try and if it doesn't work let me know.

You can try doing this: pip install --upgrade pip wheel setuptools requests If that does not work then I wouldn't worry about it. You won't be able to install Pillow but the script will still work without it (at least my latest version, 5.5 - it won't do ALL it can do, but it will do most of what you need to do).

Hmmm, that's odd. A lot, of course, depends on where you live (since they ship from Denmark there are lots of shipping issues for other countries - I had to fill out custom forms to get it here in the U.S.). I can also see issues depending on what size you ordered - maybe they are out of a particular size? I'm an admin on the Rokoko Discord so I can ask for you there and see what's going on and see if we can figure things out (let me know the size suit you ordered and where you are - I ordered a medium and it should be here today, which is about a week. However, I've ordered previously from them with my other suit, and didn't need to worry about customs this time).

@@MikeDKelley Thanks, Mike. I ordered a large, so the size could be the issue; I live in South Carolina, so I don't think that would be that big of a problem. When they shipped the gloves, they went out on Friday, and I think I received them by that Monday or Tuesday.

Wait - are you saying you have the coil but it isn't working for you? If you calibrate it (as normal) and have it the right height off the ground (including even entering it manually if the auto doesn't get it right) it should take care of any hand issues for you. If not, make sure you talk to Rokoko support (and have the latest firmware - they actually just released new stuff yesterday).

LOL - no one "sends" me anything anymore (now that I'm retired and on a fixed income it's not easy buying almost anything. But - this is my hobby and a lot of people spend money on, say, boats or golf or, well, women <g> and my wife lets me indulge in this particular one). When I *was* working I got a lot of free software, but I don't even get that anymore, even though not only do I beta a lot of stuff, but I even write code for them. Sigh. I will say this - while the cost might seem high (particularly AFTER this month) you can pay for it on their split payment no interest plan (so total cost is around $200 a month). And a LOT of folks spend more money on that on gaming even. I think almost anyone can budget for this if animation is important to them.

Well, you know the internet. You can find folks saying almost anything and unless you actually see PROOF of this I chalk a lot of things up to "user error". So far, in my (fairly) intensive tests I've found no issues with drifting or weird motions at all (plus I've watched a LOT of videos where creators use it just fine). But - I can do another video (maybe even another stream either later today or tomorrow - if you catch the live notification, assuming you're subscribed, hop on and ask me questions or tell me what you want to see). Clearly I like the suit or I wouldn't be buying another (actually it's already shipped and on the way to me but given my wife's health I don't know if I'll be able to show two suits working at the same time any time soon).

Concerning the rest, there are indeed some videos like this: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qZW7f5-cqqqfoa8, which show bugged animations that seem unusable to me (although there is no proof of the calibration being done properly). In any case, what I would love to see, if you ever get the chance, is some animations like in that video, just everyday stuff, walking around casually, picking up a glass of water and drinking, pressing a button, turning around, talking using your arms etc. I am saying examples, just to see if the suit can deliver believable everyday animations. I am a subscriber for years and, if work allows (given that we live in completely different time zones), I will jump in whenever you do the livestream. If I can't, a video like that will surely help me very much. Thanks for your help and again, my best to you and your wife!

@@phoenixstudios7520 Thanks for the concern about Annie - she's my entire life so it's difficult when she is in so much pain. But, sure, I can do all of those things you mention. You mention different time zones - what time would be good for you? I can't do it right now (I just came back from the gym) but if this time works for you I could do it early tomorrow morning. It's 6:30am our time, but I usually get up at 5am (so I was up 90 minutes ago). And if you can't make it I'll still try to do all you mention and maybe others will jump in and ask for some other things so I can get it demoed (I didn't visit the link you put but I will - is it inside of iClone? Because a lot of folks don't know how to recategorize a rig and that ends up with issues. Using the plugin and/or just importing the FBX correctly will solve these things).

Well, here in central Florida it's as hot and humid as it can be anywhere in the world, but I guess if you don't have A/C that might be a problem (I couldn't live without A/C - I've had it wherever I've lived since I was about 18 :>). At home I keep it at 75 during the summer, but when I wear the suit I DO lower it to 73 and it feels as cool as a cucumber. I've used trackers on mocap and kind of hate it but to each their own.

@@MikeDKelley Oh we have AC, it's just my PC pumps out so much heat that to cool the room the rest of the house would be frigid! I'd love a suit, they're just not practical for me 😊

@@apricotdog Wow - I have a Nvidia 4090 (so no card runs hotter) but the Alienware is water cooled and whisper quiet. Plus - there are three computers in my office, all running at the same time, and it still stays cool. I guess we just have really good A/C (it was put in four years ago so it's pretty recent and efficient). As I said, I do have to turn it down a few degrees just to be perfectly comfortable, but if I were you at the very least I'd investigate getting a water cooled PC (they are just about all the norm nowadays, particularly with high end graphic cards, and make a huge difference).

I'm not quite sure what you're asking - as I'm doing this live stream the face is being controlled by Live Face on my iPhone, and I did not even calibrate it (normally I would do a bit of calibration But also, after capture, I would run Acculips to clean up some of the lip movements)

@@KiwiHawk-downunder-nz Actually I did figure out the sound issue and you'll see the stream that started a minute later did have the correct sound (it's there in the tutorial playlist to see, or even just in the live stream playlist).

Um, what problem? If you mean the eyelids not closing all the way, choose edit your character and "fix eyelids" and it will work. If it's some other issue let me know.
