See my thing is not hifi or not. When I pay for Tital that's what I get a paid for music service. When I PAY for Spotify they try to sell me more crap and those with a sub are paying for that those without one despite ads. Spotify is just greedy bottom line.

I recently spoke to a bloke who didn't listen to internet radio, 'that is just a downgraded mp3 signal'... talking about snobbery! He can do whatever he wants, I enjoy internet radio every day thank you very much... My favorite station by the way is Ancient FM all the way from Nova Scotia, now thát freedom is what internetradio is all about!

Very good JD! I really do not know why people are making such comments. I believe it is from the same place that all the bad behaviour derives. Original sin. So, that for me is a fact that I jave to deal eith in every aspect of life. Starting point not to fell into same trap and stand there poisinig my own life and time.

Thanks John, although too much on cables for me. My question is, if i buy a “good” streamer, say a Cambridge, at what price point can i expect a stand alone dac to sound better than my Cambridge? Seems to me like the audio debate on when to use separates.
@amosperrine19093 күн бұрын
Or, put another way, what can’t we all get along? We in the hi fi community are a minority, stop arguing amongst ourselves. Let’s revel in our love of music, and hear what’s unique in another’s system.

I am using apple tv connected to the marantz stereo 70s via hdmi media player input. Playing apple music from the apple tv 4k and sound processed by the marantz internal dac because apple tv 4k internal dac is not good enough when using the marantz direct mode. Using the marantz internal dac gives more air and clarity to the vocals and brighter sound than the apple tv direct, which is crazy knowing that marantz is known for its warm sounding, the apple tv 4k is much more. Paired with the lumina 2 is a pair made from heaven.. This gives me the convinience and good audio quality rather than using the airplay 2. So my hopes is one day apple tv 4k could send hires loseless, and that alone at least for me would be a game changer.

Back again. I added the 3000micro and yes - lovely room filling sound. From church organ to Mannequin Pussy - they bring the joy. I've been testing other set ups out of curiosity, and I keep coming back to these. For me - kind of flawless. DTS is not that bad. Clumsy to get going, but muscle memory speeds that up. Playback seems fine to me - never had an issue. Hey - all the world's music, a lot of its radio- all at my grubby fingertip - I'm OK. Could always hook up a wiim, power it from the usb service port, ... modern life.

I totally agree on your analysis. that being said: The loaded audiophile snob exists. I've seen B&W Nautilus in a white marble hall. Would have sounded horrible with all the echoes, hadn't it been for the fact they weren't even wired up. You might argue that this example is not an audiophile; apparently (and understandably) it is just shown as sculptured art or indsutrial design. But then there are those less extreme cases. Gear with five-figure price tags in an empty, concrete, untreated room, or with the five-figure pricetag speakers 'cabinetted' in a closet, fireplace or in the upmost ceiling corners of a room. Add some verbal flexing in the mix, plus a grand display of electronics with 'loud designs' (Dartzeel, Don d'Agostino or similar) and I can totally understand that someone perceives that as audiophile snobery. Only thing needed then is a generalisation 'all audiophiles are snobs'. Generalisations are always wrong, but hey - I just made a generalisation here myself ;-)

I know you made this video a year ago and I’m not sure if you’ll even see this comment, but you saved my audiophile journey! So I grew up in a household where my father had high end separates, etc. I was exposed to hi-fi audio at a very young age with that being said.. I’m now an adult on my own quest and one struggle I have been dealing with for the last two years since switching to iOS fully, from lifelong android user was getting Apple Music on my hi-fi set up. Long story short I have the Eversolo A6 getting delivered on Thursday. Thanks to this video I looked into it deeper, and pray it’s the answer to my prayers. So thank you. I’m now also subscribed and planning to join your Patreon. Keep up the great work!

I just got into HIFI and ordered these speakers with stands today. I'll be using a ROTEL RA-1062 to power these beauties. Hopefully, that is a good match. I mainly will be listing to LP on this system. I plan to upgrade the amplifier at a later time. The NAD C 3050 looks nice. Thanks for the review.

Nice. I already used Plex to replace Netflix/Hulu/whatever. Much better. I'm planning to add videos to save from KZbin if I like them enough (in case they go missing or whatever). Now I didn't know Plex already had the Plexamp app just for music. Hopefully I can totally replace KZbin Music now and just use these things to find new music to add to my Plex server. In order to download songs to the phone I'd need to buy Plex pass but it's only $120 for a lifetime pass. Glad I'm finding out about this, because this totally seems feasible to replace a lot of things and save some money in the long run.

He nailed it on the head. I have exactly a very wealthy snob buddy who got brilliant top notch high end system with all the bells and whistles.....but somehow I truly did not find pleasure in listening to it for whatever reasons. Maybe too much details or I just dont have audiophile ears built in me.
