I’ve never heard anyone say that pin 30 can be used as a ground. If 85 & 86 is the coil how can you have a ground on 30 also?

there is no such thing as pin 87a on a 4 relay it is a 4 pin relay you are demonstrating

The only thing the 4pin relay was used for was to show the coil and arm inside for a visual to have in your head. All other parts of the video are for a 5 pin relay.

So you put a wire with an inline fuse from the positive of the battery to pin 30?

If anyone tries this, please note that the guy made a mistake applying the first sheet of polarized film on the underneath side. If he would have put it on in the correct orientation, he wouldn’t have had to replace the front sheet. Just plug it in and hold the sheet in various positions until you find the correct one and then cut. You shouldn’t have to replace the front sheet.

@@venomchris5818 today was the first time for me. I decided to try it after watching your video. I had to cut my polarized sheet diagonally to get it just right. Turned out perfectly….and I kept the original front layer so I still have the original markings.

Gonna try it soon on mine. So still remove the one underneath side, and try different positions to see how it looks better?

@@juanruvalcaba5781 removie the bottom one. Clean glass well. Then hold the polarized sheet behind the glass while you have the LCD plugged in (numbers have to be illuminated) rotate sheet until the numbers are most vivid. Then you’ll know the orientation of the polarized sheet to cut the new piece out.

When using a rocker switch in conjunction with a fuse panel, the 12v supply to the switch will be from the fuse panel then the output of the switch will be to the accessory?
@venomchris5818
@venomchris5818 2 ай бұрын
@@BigFootedMOTHERFER if your accessory runs on less than 10 amps, yes. The rocker switches are rated at 20 Amps max and 10 Amps continuous.., if your accessorie draws more than 10 amps then you would use the switch to trip the relay which would then power the accessorie.

How about putting a small U shape channel on the bottom of the door, on the inside, and slope it back to the hinge, plus a bit further so when you open the door the water runs down into the channel and drains back into the cabinet. The black rubber membrane could still be used, sandwiched between the channel and inside of door - just a thought ? Have seen other plastic bins used as cabinets, even angled at 45 deg's to get the viewing slope right but this looks great - looking forward to all the details, I NEED to make one of these ☺

If your accessories draw less than 10 amps each you don't need any relays. Those rocker switches have a 20 Amp max and a 10 Amp continuous rating. If the accessory will draw more than 10 amps then it would need a relay.

geez almost no one says what amp Fuse to TOGGLE relay ... 5, 10, or 15 amp ??? to safely trigger relay with out burning up relay coil.
@venomchris5818
@venomchris5818 4 ай бұрын
Generally most accessory leads in a car or SXS / ATV are 15 amps. Some can be 10. The relay coil will only pull enough current to work. The only time it would pull more is if it shorted in some way. That would blow the fuse. The average 12 volt relay only pulls .16 Amps to trigger the coil. You could put a 3 amp fuse on the power input wire to the coil if you wanted to be very cautious. But I have not seen anyone do that.

I have 2 CCA main power wires in my vehicles and they're working just fine. I think it's more as you said, this was a side by side, so open to the weather. Also, I liquid electrical taped every exposed bit on both ends and then brushed on dielectric grease after tightening the connections. I also actually maintain my vehicles and keep my battery posts clean, so that doesn't hurt either, lol. As a mechanic for over 20 years, I've seen hundreds of 100% copper OEM battery cables turn to dust around the terminals, sometimes for 6 inches up the insulation, just like that. Under hood installation, especially on a battery terminal, is basically worst case scenario for an electrical connection, regardless of composition.

So are the actual pos/neg from the accessories going to the fuse box or it it just for the rocker switch? Or is it both. I just had 2 relays crap out on me and idk why.

Not familiar with that exact product “Cab-o-sil” but quite often the fillers used for epoxy and fiberglass work are microscopic hollow glass spheres. They are very lightweight and chemically inert to any of the solvent in whatever material you put them in. They are particularly used for epoxy glue ups because they help maintain a minimum gap so that when you clamp the parts together you don’t squeeze *all* of the epoxy out. They are also used to lighten the overall density of resins in composite work

Pay good attention to what Chris has learned and thankfully shared with the KZbin crowd. Why? Because Chris offered this unit up for sale (In order to build his next version), and I purchased this unit. Everything Chris learned he has shared. This unit is exactly what he has shown you. I took his unit, did a couple fiddly things to it, and started vapor-blasting the crap out of stuff. The unit is.... Well.... Pretty damned good! I don't have time to do a three-year development phase. I also don't have the budget to buy a pro unit. But I am lazy/smart enough to use what Chris learned to my advantage. This is a great tutorial.
