My own personal humble opinion, back then nobody wanted to see two faces go at it...they tried with Ultimate Warrior, and we saw how that went...so it only made business sense for Hulk to drop the belt to Yoko...Bret would go on to win the championship 4 more times after that...

Bret "The Hitman" Hart had a passion for the wrestling business. Actually, he cared about the way he performed rather than getting big money. That's why Kevin Nash called Bret Hart, "The $400,000. dollar champion."

Being at the top changed wrestlers personally back then.. Shawn's a great example.. later in his career he said he didn't even want to be champion because of the politics and he just wanted to put on good matches and his humility really showed in the ladder half of his career in that regard. He became the absolute best. Him and Bret were always my favourites. Them and the undertaker.

Too fucking bad. Nobody cares about hart. 2nd rate player. Also, hogan was protecting his character. Why would he leave losing to a face, and hart of all people? That's why he lost to yoko. Lose to a heel with an off finish. Most guys wouldve done that. For fucks sake hart didnt want to lose to michaels, hence the survivor series.

He never had a problem with winning or losing???? Yet on his Wrestling with the shadows he said "Vince said I have to lose the title in Montreal." What's that say right there he had a problem on how he lost it.

No, the problem was losing to Shawn. Bret had told Shawn that he was happy for him, and that he would be glad to put Shawn over any time. Shawn looked at Bret and said I appreciate that, but I want you to know I won't do the same for you. That made Bret mad, and felt disrespected by Shawn. He told Vince, I won't put Shawn over until he puts me over first. Bret was more than willing to lose the title to Austin or anyone else but Shawn. He even offered to turn the belt over the next night in Ottawa. Everyone paints Bret as the "guy who refused to do business".... but that is NOT true. He wasn't going to just let Shawn walk all over him like that, and I don't blame him. Vince even agreed Bret didn't have to lose at SS..... it would end in a DQ..... it was Vince who lied and went back on his word.

The only negative story I ever hear about Owen hart is how he never contacted Austin over his injury. Austin was pissed he never did. I've heard he was just too ashamed or guilty to do it, which I understand, but yeah, he should have reached out to Steve.
