Bret Hart seems to be one of the most genuine and nicest guys in wrestling. But today you can sense a sadness in him and also the anger he has for his siblings. It's just sad that a number of unfortunate events happened to a guy like Bret.

how much can a man take seriously...so much tragedies u were forced to deal with in such short time. bret is truly an inspirational figure. im a hitman fan since 1991. and when bret left in the fall of 1997, his career is over. he came to wcw but he couldnt find the same success he had in wwf. say what you want about bret being ego and selfish, but he still has my respect not just as a pro wrestler, but also as a person whom i can look up to.

I heard Vince deemed it as "sports entertainment" 2 avoid paying extra 2 the state athletic commission. U know, B4 I got my current job 10 years ago, I was leaning towards finding a wrestling school 2 train & become a wrestler, but after reading Foley's 1st book & realizing the sacrifices, epsecially becoming dependant on pain pills, I chose 2 remain a spectator. I also respect the wrestlers' hustle & I appreciate them 4 putting their bodies on the line 2 entertain us fans.

since he left wwf, his career and life went downhill. being betrayed by his longtime boss, wcw have no idea what to offer him, his close friends, parents, brother and brother in law all passed away like every year. brian pillman (oct 1997), rick rude (april 1999), owen hart (may 1999), his mum (oct 2001), bulldog (may 2002), curt hennig (feb 2003), his dad & hawk (oct 2003), bossman & ms elizabeth (2004), benoit (june 2007). divorce and suffered a stroke in june 2002, concussion in dec 1999.

I do believe in "what goes around comes around", so maybe you have something of a point. I don't know anything about Bret or Owen's personal life to make that sort of judgement. Do you know him personally or someting? But I still don't understand what being a christian has to do with it. So do you think anyone that is not a Christian is a bad person? There are good and people of all faiths.
@danpats113 жыл бұрын
@Rubberchix uh, his dad, his brother, his brother in law, most of his good friends in the business. then having a career ending concussion and subsequent stroke. does all that happen to a lot of people? perhaps by the time they are 80 years old maybe, not when their 40ish.

It could be because he had a whole hour(two shows) as opposed to most of the others who have only a half hour interview. Landsberg didn't interrupt Hulk Hogan very much either. I think also because this interview is a -world exclusive-, Landsberg should have and did take a backseat and let Bret talk.

Bret was not overrated. Vince was so worried about making money and getting ratings in the Attitude era that he forgot about the wrestlers that put WWFon the map. Shawn Michaels was and is a pawn that Vince needed in that era. I watched wrestling my whole life and been to many events. Can you even name a match that had the most attention that Bret wasn't wrestling in??? If you don't know or care it's because Bret made Wrestlers better when he fought so your comments don't make since DONKEYDICK.

actually shawn didn't have to do it he refused to put Bret over earlier on so naturally when Bret was asked to put Shawn, he returned the favor and refused to put Shawn over. Also, Vince was contractually obligated to reasonably follow Bret's creative decisions in the last days of his WWE career so Bret Hart was truly screwed by all of them. If Vince had no intention to follow his and Bret's plan, he should not have agreed to it.

The term "mark" isn't really a derogatory one like for example "chump" or "Bum" is. It's really meant to imply the audience or the group of people you are trying to influence. For instance a heel is trying to influence the marks to boo for him and the baby face is attempting to do the opposite. It has only become to be a derogatory term in todays wrestling world, and I agree kids are fans, not marks in the derogatory sense of the word.

i don't think there's a more tactless interviewer in this world. it's like watching a mockumentary with steve carell except it's not funny at all in reality and you just wanna smack that guy for ruining every honest moment of this conversation. bret hart is a great man and will always be the best wrestler of all time for me!

As pure wrestler, sure, he can't hold a candle to Race. But race couldn't cut a promo like Foley. The wrestling business had fallen on its ass in the mid 90's. And it was guys like Foley, Austin, The Rock (even though they weren't the best "wrestlers" ). To bring it back into the juggernaut it was in the 80's(Hogan). You gotta respect that.

I'll buy that, but remember the key point: he lost a rigged match in a fake sport. It isn't like the ref screwing over a team in the Super Bowl, it is like the director releasing a movie with a different ending...

swami22 foley's not even in the top 25 top wrestlers off all time. He can cut a great promo. But in the ring not so much. When he won the WWE title he had help from DX & Stone Cold Steve Austin.

Bottom line Brett refused to loose the match because he wanted to leave wwf as champion. He failed to do his job by defying his employer. It would have looked too weak on Vince's part to have his champion join wcw so for the good of the company he had to do it. The company is bigger than any individual

Id like to argue with u but u speak the truth. On a video interview I made backstage & after. It was true he did not want to lay down to Shawn due 2 sum past gripe we all know about. He was fully prepared to lay down for the up & comer & the future of wrestling Steve Austin who he still does have a great respect for. He was also prepared to lay down for the icon Mick Foley. So people know your role & shut your mouth.
