This was sooo GREAT! Awesome that Wolfie played along but most importantly, he talked you thru the uncomfortableness of trying to paint with odd materials. Just let him keep picking and packing the bag with random stuff. That was the greatest part of it all!

I loved this one :) I have created a "game" for myself when I have decision fatigue : I throw dices and each number is one tool, and then I throw again to pick one colour per material, and then one more throwing to pick the subject. And I try to do this every morning in under 30 minutes. It has worked amazingly for my creativity :)

@@gingerbuchanan2795 great choices! Water soluble graphite is tough to work with when you’re accustomed to watercolor yet it works beautifully with watercolors. And the pen is a great addition for Sarah’s love for detail. But she’ll need some brushes! Add another layer of difficulty with a pentel water brush or make it easier with watercolor brushes!

1. Your 2.4 pilot parallel pen with non waterproof ink. 2. A waterbrush or a brush and water. 3. A white marker or really opaque white pencil. Go wild with the ink and water, it makes really loose and interesting images. The white helps if you lose some highlights. Have fun 😄

Hilarious! I loved this! I took Sumi-e lessons decades ago from a Japanese lady and learned to use the Sumi-e brushes like the one you just used on rice paper which is very much like painting on Kleenex tissues. I learned SO much about how to control the water in the brush to get a whole scale of values. It helped me a lot with watercolor and now gouache. BTW, the correct way to hold the brush is vertically and in the middle of the handle. Then you can get very fine lines as long as you control the amount of liquid in the brush and you spin the brush slowly as you draw it across the paper to maintain the fine point. Wolfe, please make sure Sarah gets this comment. And , Wolfe, you have learned a lot about doing art just from watching. Why not try it yourself? It’s fun! Remember that each person has a style of his/her own. So don’t compare your art to Sarah’s. Art is your OWN expression of what you see/experience, just think of it as picture writing. ☮️💙💙💙💙💙💙💙🙏

And he more or less got you covered with both paper and drawing implements... Watercolor pencil ink dipping is so creative! I would love to see regular graphite pencils and water soluble graphite pencils next... Partly because I just bought a whole bunch of them today at the art store... (Why did I do that? Because it had a sale? But I haven't done graphite art in ages...? 🙈) And I guess to spruce up all that grey let's add an ink and brush to add a splash of color.
