Awesome. One of these just fell out of my window and I'd been staring at it like a monkey doing math for the last couple of days. Slightly different than mine but close enough to let me fix it.

My washer machine all of the sudden just started filling up with lots of water and then it just starting leaking from the bottom of the machine and is wondering what is the cause? I replace the pump, but now the water is squirting out from the back through this little tiny hole. Please help give me advice on what I need to do?

This video is very helpful, thank you. One thing, I am getting stuck at finding the pathway in the allen wrench hole. My allen key keeps hitting metal right away. I have it turned up, too. The initial issue was that the handle will not turn right. Your video has it up and RIGHT -- does it need to be that way to get the allen wrench in? if anyone else is hitting metal or unable to to turn the handle right, would love to hear

There might be a problem in this video. I'm not sure. Do you notice that the old one had two green inserts and no black rubber rings around them. 3:14 The new ones do have rubber rings. And when you look inside the brass valve body, where the pressure balancing valve goes, there are two black rings inside from the old valve 3:36. I think you have to remove those two black rings because the new pressure balancing valve has them. They just seem to get stuck when you remove it. Am I mistaken?
@digitalcamproducer
@digitalcamproducer 14 күн бұрын
You are correct. One other viewer noticed the old black rings still inside the pipe in the wall. After being made aware of that I rewatched my video and saw that. I think what happened was that I was too busy with getting the shots and I didn’t see the rubber rings still inside the back of the fixture. So I removed the valve and pressure balance unit at a later time and removed those gaskets that weren’t supposed to be in there. The new pressure balance unit already has them.
@zztop11
@zztop11 14 күн бұрын
@@digitalcamproducer I took the old one apart and inside it was a mess. The rubber diaphragm had almost completely disintegrated. Furthermore, although the ceramic valve looks okay, The intake o-ring, which is not a standard round shape, was pretty disintegrated on the hot water side. I guess the rubber that they are using doesn't do that great in hot water. Luckily the American Standand warranty service sent me both the pressure balancer and the valve, without any challenges. They also sent me a new spout/diverter. I have to solder a new pipe to install the spout, that's my remaining piece of the project.

Does this also prevent other cats from the neighborhood coming into your backyard?
@digitalcamproducer
@digitalcamproducer 15 күн бұрын
I think in the areas where I have the barrier on the fence it keeps other cats out. But I do have a small section on one side of my yard where the gate is installed. I don’t have a barrier in that section. So technically animals can get in and out in that area. I’m pretty sure raccoons come into my backyard at night because at times there are holes dug in my lawn or plants messed up. Also squirrels come in no problem by jumping into the bushes next to the fence. But it has kept my cat in since I put the barrier up.

Why don't the smoke detector manufacturers include a button to turn the dam things off when the homeowner sees that there is no fire? I spent an hour this morning trying first to get the alarm off, and then to stop it from chirping every minute. This afternoon, I'm removing the alarm with a crowbar since the unit will not twist off as the instructions declare.
@digitalcamproducer
@digitalcamproducer 15 күн бұрын
Yeah an alarm silence button would be helpful. I’ve noticed that when I install new smoke detectors that they come with a plastic pin that can be inserted into the side of the smoke detector which locks it to the mounting plate in the ceiling. With this pin in place you won’t be able to rotate the detector to remove it. Not sure if that’s the issue with yours. But personally I’ve never installed the pin nor have I run into one where someone actually used it.

The garage door locks automatically when using the opener and remote. when you open manually during power outage, does closing manually lock the door?
@digitalcamproducer
@digitalcamproducer 17 күн бұрын
The door will not lock automatically when you open the garage door manually. But you can keep someone on the outside from opening it by placing something on both sides of the track in a couple of openings. Some garage doors have a locking handle in the middle so when you twist it, metal rods are extended into 2 holes in the track to prevent the door from opening. Also, as long as the garage door arm is connected to the motor in the closed position the door will essentially be locked. But again, if the door is detached from the motor the door will freely open.

THANK YOU!!! This gave me the confidence to try it on my own. The fear of what we don't know is what holds us back from trying to do things on our own and coming to know how to do it ourselves. It was as easy as it looks, except for a stripped screw, (probably from a previous repair man), that I had to get off with some patience and time. I was able to get the pump switched out by myself, with the help of my daughter, which brought us together and also taught her how to do something I wasn't taught as a kid, which is how to fix our own things. Thank you for being a teacher and showing others how to do this. The confidence gained to do something unknown is the biggest thing gained.

You’re welcome! So glad you and your daughter were able to do the repair together! I’m sure it was a learning experience and a bonding experience for both of you. It definitely helps when you can see someone else do the task first. For me I was doing this for the first time while I was shooting the video. So I was learning as I was going. But I had a feeling that others would find it helpful to see the process. Plus it saves a lot of money doing it yourself. So glad your repair was successful!

Your video is a tremendous "How To" but not much on the "Need To" side. I experienced the OE error message but before dismantling the machine I checked the coin basket.It was clogged with lint. I cleaned it out and hand screwed it back in. All OK. No pump needed. Your video did however remind me that there is a coin/lint basket. Perhaps you could start with a suggesction to first check this item.

Hi Sir, it is a very valuable video. Thank you. I have a Jenn air JFC2290vem7. I need to cut the electricity every several months to defrost the ice. On your opinion, if I replace the control board the problem will be solved? And for this model, the control board is different. I appreciate if you answer me. Thank you.
@digitalcamproducer
@digitalcamproducer 20 күн бұрын
We also had to disconnect the power to this fridge every few weeks to melt the ice buildup. For me the circuit board replacement is what fixed the problem. I was still able to perform a forced defrost so that let me know that the defrost heater and defrost thermostat were still working. So the last component was the circuit board. I would say if you can find out how to perform a forced defrost then you can confirm that the problem is the circuit board. I’m just a regular home owner but a professional would probably have other ways to test the defrost heater and thermostat. The fridge in the video has been working properly since I replaced the circuit board when I posted this video.

I don’t know if there’s any easy way to get the latch out if it falls into the door. Off the top of my head if the door can be detached you could tip it over until the latch slides to the opening where you can grab it.
