Hello on my Light switch the white is on to and the black on the bottom is that correct

I’m not 100% sure but line wires are typically black or red. Load wires are typically white. But in my room the line wire was white and the load wire was black. So it depends on the initial installation by the electrician. On basic light switches like the one in my video the line wire location will always be the bottom screw contact. Load wire is the top screw.

You can definitely install a smart switch in the same location as your old light switch. However with a smart switch there is a 4th wire that is required. That is called a neutral wire. Most modern homes will have that. You’ll see an extra wire(s) capped off in the back of the junction box. The particular junction box in my video didn’t have a neutral wire inside even though other locations in my home do have neutral wires.
