The topic is cleaning the top, but the rambling in the beginning puts a lot of people off your video. The camera position in the back results in what you are doing being obscured, so that is a big issue if viewers can not view.

Hey, thanks for the comment. I appreciate feedback that can help me improve voiced in an analytical manner. You are correct. Since I do all these videos unscripted, I can tend to wander a bit with my introductions. I need to always get to the point quickly. The camera placement I caught in editing, but was not interested in reshooting the segment so I just went for it. Again, thanks for the constructive way that you analyzed my video. Even with the short comings, I hope that you got something from the video and have considered subscribing. I will try to do better in the future. Have a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year.

Hello sir, Just stumbled across this video and your channel and I am enjoying it. That is a very nice saw. I love the older Delta scrollsaw. I actually have had two of those and I passed them on to other people to help them get started. I currently have six Delta scrollsaws and numerous other ones, as I use them for teaching kids in our youth group and in schools now and then. I have been woodworking and scrollsawing for over 30 years but I still consider myself an amateur. There are so many great deals on marketplace for used older scrollsaws. I like them much better than any of the new ones. I've never traveled more than 30 minutes to get a scrollsaw and get great deals, but it looks like that one was worth the drive. I really like the Delta blade holders. The Delta scrollsaws are my favorite and I like the older Delta tools in general. I am looking for an older Delta table saw currently. I have numerous videos on my channel also about scroll sawing and woodworking in general if your bored lol. I love to teach but I also love to learn and I'll never stop. Again, great video and I will be watching more. Have a wonderful Christmas season! Marty from Minnesota, USA.🙂

Thanks for the wonderful comment. I share your love of older Delta tools. It is unfortunate that they are no longer available. As a former shop teacher, I also love showing young kids how to scroll saw, wood turn and other woodworking skills. While I have taught students how to use the scroll saw for years, my own skill level is not where I would like it to be. There will be more scroll saw content on my channel for sure. I checked out your channel and have subscribed. I am looking forward to viewing your older videos and look forward to your new video creations. May you and your family have a wonderful Christmas season as well. Glen from Saskatchewan Canada.

@RLDRCustomCreations-zd4zj Thank you sir! The older scrollsaws including Delta's are still available all over in the U.S. There are many for sale real cheap close to where I live. I pick them up now and then and fix them like new for teaching. I am a truckdriver, but my heart is teaching and so I do it whenever I have the chance. Thanks again and Merry Christmas.🙂

I used X-Acto knives for years making art cards and mattes for broadcast graphics. Not once did I think they could be sharpened… they were treated as just another consumable. I’ve got a 360 and a 600 CBN wheel that are gathering dust cause my son was going to make knives… maybe those and a leather strop would work for my X-Acto blades… I like your system though… sure is a lot cheaper than 2 CBN wheels 😂! I did have some concern with the water from your 400 grit wheel so close to the open motor. (Electricity terrifies me!) Thanks Glenn. Great video.
@RLDRCustomCreations-zd4zjАй бұрын
Thanks for the reply and suggestion. I bet those CBN wheels would work just fine if you can slow them down. I also thought of those blades as consumables, but Randy Letkeman showed me a trick to sharpen them and then I made this sharpener and realized that I could drastically improve the sharpness of an original new blade. So cheaper and better! I never thought about the water and the open motor. I am using very little water, but that is a good point that you have. Perhaps aluminum tape over the open holes? That might be the solution. Thanks again for your continued support. It means a lot to me.

I've watched to the end, So thanks very much. I can now give my view. I think you won't be that happy with it for spanners or wrenches as you'll call them. But I reverted to doing this method that you have done. for ratchets extensions. Screwdrivers and things of that kind. When it came to organising. wrenches and spanners. I've bought magnetic. spanner organisers. from TEMU at £2.80 UK. per,10 peices, and magnetic socket holders sets of Consisting of 3 sizes 1/4" 3/8" and1/2"in metric,across the pond you might need standard sizes too. they cost me £16 for the 3 set, they allow you to store deep and shallow sockets in the 1/4 and 3/8 but only short in 1/2 drives, so i bought a second set to allow for the storing of my1/2 deep sockets. the left over holders got re labled for torx and hex drives, so not to waste them. by the way these same holders are sold by the major companies for 4 times what i paid for them at temu If you've not used Temu Be careful because there's some junk out there as well as. good. stuff just. read the labels carefully. A lot of things tend to be a lot smaller than the pictures make them out to be. But Oh my God, they are. so cheap. For instance, I bought a master set of deep. and shallow. high impact sockets. over 50 sockets in the set for £16 Total no carriage fees sorry that was from aliexpress. A similar company. just Chinese equivalents of eBay and Amazon. They started off. importing from China. but now both companies have got warehouses in the UK. so they can get us stuff in less than a week. And returns are very easy too. If it's faulty, they ask. as you to take a photo. of the goods I've never had any refusals to for my money back And they tell you to keep it. They don't even want it back. If you can prove it's broken or faulty or if something's not as good as you would like it to be. they will even offer you a discount if you're willing to keep it. So there are cheap waste to set up tools. storage. Sorry if I've gone on a bit. but I like to share my experience just. as you are.

I think you're referring to back to black. is what we call it in the UK refreshes interiors of cars, bulkheads, I've done the similar to you I'm not far into your video before I'm making comments. @@RLDRCustomCreations-zd4zj what I have isn't more serious. I made it out of scrap and junk I collected from here and there. All of the randomness added up to good results though. I got lucky. Which is a good thing. Sometimes the fates smile on you. At the same time I did try to steer myself in the best direction I could though. But having done it I can't take total credit for how things turned out. A lot of things had to go right. Things I didn't plan. Like the final orientation of the tool rest. I didn't do that on purpose. The way it is the tool is plumb when it's on the rest. That's brilliant. You'll never know how great that it. Not unless you try it for yourself. Getting the gravity assist. It ending up that way was total chance though.

Thanks for the comment. I purchased my CBN wheel from Lee Valley. The item number is 77j8148. I purchased the 180 grit option. It seems like a nice wheel, but if they would sell a one inch wide wheel, I would have purchased that for my 3/4 hp grinder. This 1.5 inch wheel has a lot of mass and I think a lighter wheel would be better for my grinder. My view is that if you buy only one wheel, get the 180 grit option. Thanks.

Can never have too many sharpening videos! I sucked back a gallon of Kool-Ade and bought CBN wheels right off the bat thinking it was the answer to my sharpening woes! I love the things, but I’ve learned it’s practice, not the wheels that make the tool sharp!
@RLDRCustomCreations-zd4zj2 ай бұрын
Thanks for the comment. When I started turning, I eventually purchased what was considered the best at the time. Now we have CBN, the next "best" thing. In a couple of years, I expect that there will be a new "best" for all of us to go to. Oh well, you can't take your money with you. Thanks for following.
@1pcfredАй бұрын
If you're doing it right then you don't need any practice. It may take a bit to figure out how to do it right though. Sharpening is all about the proper technique. Which if you're doing it right is foolproof. If it's hard then you're doing something wrong. There's a lot of controversy surrounding sharpening. Because a lot haven't figured it out for themselves yet.

Goodmorning i like that little ornament looks prity. The scrolsaw blades that i use are just a straight up and down blades and I prefer numbers 3 and 5 and when new they give a nice clean and tidy smooth cut. I find myself that the reverse blades tend to drift and they're harder to control in my opinion but saying that I'm fairly new to scrolling myself by only a few months, so I'm learning and throughly enjoying it aswell after retirement from gardening.
