Every color analysis test I’ve taken says I’m soft summer, but I’m so confused because I have naturally red hair. My red is not very bright though, and someone once described it to me as a muted red 😂

I can't say for sure without doing a proper, in-depth color assessment for you. However, generally, Light Springs should stay away from dark colors as they will drain color from you. Cool colors will definitely be too potent for your light, warm coloring and can make you look like a walking bobblehead (✋🏾 nope). Additionally, avoid potent high-contrast colors, such as black and white patterns, and colors that are directly opposite one another on the color wheel. Hope that helps, and thanks for your question. Welcome to the RWS community!

@@RenaissanceWomanofStyle If we are talking in general terms, I am most DEFINITELY very light, think Tilda Swinton. What colors might somebody like Tilda wear on an evening out? I am very aware of colors I should stay away from, that information is not helpful.

@@loosilu Jewel toned colors for sure from the light spring would look gorgeous for an evening out. Immediately, sapphire blues, regal greens and sandy taupes come to mind. Keep makeup neutral because light springs jewel colors are pretty potent and you’re already the highest contrast (correction brightest of the springs) of the spring women. Maybe a slight pop of color on your lips. Hope you have a fabulous evening out 👌🏾

@@loosilu Hi! Jewel colors from the Light Spring palette are indeed quite vibrant, clear, and bright-not pale, but light and described as pastel. Springs, in general, in my opinion, need a healthy dose of color to inject vibrancy. When deciding to wear taupe pants (that's your decision), I simply gave you an option of taupe. Questioning whether it's appropriate to wear taupe pants for an evening out is semantics and really comes down to personal choice and your style personality. It's like trying to say you should never wear white after Labor Day-lol, semantics! It's up to the individual and how confident they feel wearing a specific color. Thanks for your questions and best of luck on your evening out! 🌞

Hello ladies! Thanks for your feedback on my Color Branding series (AKA Color Analysis). I've done the research and multiple color testing on the lovely Lupita Nyong'o and I just don't feel comfortable assessing her as a 'Bright Winter'. The colors from the Bright Winter color palette are too potent for Lupita's depth of deep winter coloring and I find that they overpower her. Hi! Great question 🌞 I jumped ahead by referencing the extended 16 Color Season System, which I will not be getting into yet here on the channel, as it can be a bit confusing for those who have already found their dominant color season. However, Soft Springs are still warm and have the same visual cues as a typical Spring woman of style. The difference is that you are not as vibrant in your warmth; you are slightly muted, appearing textured in your coloring. Typically, Soft Springs look quite beautiful wearing the flow colors from the Soft Autumn color palette, not the Soft Summer. Welcome to the RWS Community!

Oh wow I love this! This helps me so much too. You always get the same old celeb examples, and there hardly are any on KZbin that remotely have my coloring, as I'm Hispanic + Middle Eastern and White. Usually they are all white women whose skin tones aren't ever at tanned point but their whitest, which has made it particularly hard for me as I fluxuate dramatically depending on the season from very white to polar opposite and very tanned deep olive. So I appreciate the different examples here in regards to a cultural difference and new celebs I've never heard of before! I have gray eyes too which is I guess more rare you can say to have in someone from where my family is from (brown is more common.) I've draped a lot of different colors but never the extended spring seasonal shades, only like spring canary yellows, bright orange, and spring reds. I think I def can easily wear both palettes of BW BS + probably some LS colors I can accent with as well. 😀

To the KZbinr doing color analysis, here’s a detailed method to determine your ideal colors. Start by identifying complementary, analogous, split-complementary, and square color palettes using tools like the Adobe Color Wheel and Encycolorpedia. These tools help you find all the color families and their names, which can be very helpful. Once you have your complementary palettes, take pictures of these results. Then, use a color inversion tool, such as Google's "color invert," to reverse the shades. This will show you the complementary colors in reverse, helping you find the shades that suit you best. Through this process, I discovered that my colors matched the deep autumn palette, which I confirmed through at-home testing. While Adobe’s suggested colors worked great for nail polish, they weren’t quite right for clothing. I initially thought I needed dusty spring shades, slightly more saturated than pastels and in the medium range. However, I realized that the opposite of deep autumn is warm spring, the shades I thought I should wear, but they never felt quite right. With very dark brown (bistre) hair and a neutral warm medium beige complexion, I have a high contrast but softer look than a deep winter. An app frequently suggests that I am a deep winter, which aligns with the depth and intensity seen in deep autumn’s sister season. Interestingly, using Adobe and the invert tool gave me the same colors, confirming my findings. Additionally, you can use Google Lens for shopping. Take a picture of the color you're interested in, click on the shopping tab, and add a tag for whatever you're searching for in those colors. Click on the color and put a bracket around the color you want. This can help you find items in the exact shades that complement your palette.

Hi, you mostly pay attention to eye and hair colour when typing a person while others pay more attention to skin alone. This is confusing. I struggle to figure out if I am warm or cool.
@RenaissanceWomanofStyle
@RenaissanceWomanofStyle 27 күн бұрын
Hi! Excellent question🌞 Paying attention solely to a client's skin tone will, in my humble opinion, produce an incorrect color assessment, which is a waste of time and investment for my client. A trained and experienced color analyst (CA) will look at the overall presentation of the client to get a more refined result. Eyes, hair, and skin color are assessed and considered first, along with other nuanced visual characteristics such as freckles (if any), baby hairs along the hairline, beauty marks, and photos of the client in their most natural state. For example, let's say you are a cool winter but live in a warm climate and have a year-round tan. If I only assess your skin coloring, I might type you as an autumn because your coloring now appears warmer than it would naturally, which would be incorrect. There is a methodical, some might even say scientific, process to determining a client's signature color palette 🎨 Perhaps I’ll do a video answering questions in the future. Welcome to the community!

I'm a bright winter and that silver she draped over herself is actually a perfect bright winter silver. The more grey looking and antique style does not do BW justice at all. Grey looking metals add a muted quality that doesn't work at all.

Hi! Take your time with it 🌞 If you’ve discovered a color season and palette that resonates with you, have fun and experiment with it! After a while, you may want to add one or two additional colors from your sister season. 😉 For example, if you have determined that you are a bright winter, you can experiment with the vivid blues from the bright spring palette when you are ready. 🎨 Blues, in general, are winter's power colors; it just depends on which spectrum of the winter palette you fall within. 🌞 Enjoy the remainder of your weekend!
