to add some more to the story, David have said on social media, that for the next album, it will be a happy one, no more sad ones.
@hericlesfranca622Ай бұрын
Amazing video, but I want to add something. He didn't want to be remembered in a sad way, as he says in Adora Vivos: "a moment of silence, but not one moment more, the dead are to be forgotten, we are here to be adored". So, live your life, "forget" the ones who died, remember just the good things, they aren't suffering anymore in this life. The way he changed his view of life in this album is so hearthbreaking, he said a lot of bad things about life in the other albums, and in Adora Vivos he said "look me in the eyes, don't believe a word I say" and so it goes, we have only one life to live. But at the same time he expresses how he doesn't like to be alive, like in Travelling Alone, he shows how he doesn't want to contaminate people with his thoughts and want people to be happy and live their lives, even though he can't. He shows that life can be fun and happy to other people, so "don't look at me, i'm poor, don't be like me". I can relate to his thoughts, and I love WoY, but I can't listen to any of their albums without crying because I will never meet David and understand what made him change his mind so much. Maybe because he was preparing himself and the others for his death? I don't know. I could write an essay about this album. Sorry for writing this much, it is just because WoY means a lot to me. RIP David

I met David very briefly while doing merch sales at "Northern Lights Festival" in Toronto, which was put on by my dear friend and colleague at the time, Adrian Bromley. He seemed nice and somewhat quiet. Once Adrian tragically passed away, David paid tribute to him in his video for "I Was Buried In Mount Pleasant Cemetery". The tribute was David had put "Unrest" on the bottom of his guitar, which was a call-out to the magazine that Adrian helped start named "Unrestrained!", which I had the privilege to write for. Once David passed, I always found a way to connect the two people. I reflect on Adrian for the impact he made on my life, and his friendship, and to David who paid a great tribute to him, and I'll always be thankful to him for that.

I pre ordered a orange sustainiac model when they dropped (1400$ not including shipping and import costs. I payed around 60 bucks shipping and 100 import) and it had a slew issue. White spots in the finish, tool marks on the fretboard, pots stems that were loose, pickups mounted crooked, brownig on the pearl inlay, wiring issues with the input jack, unlevel frets, luminlay side dots not aligned straight and the thing was really dirty out of the box. Luckily didn't have a pealing logo or cracked fretboard (yet) but it's my first and last solar for sure. Custom service was no help and recommended i either return it at my expense or just piss off. It's unfortunate but it seems they still have major qc issues and poor customer service. Stay clear of this brand.

I was outside the Masquerade sometime in 2009 waiting to pick up some presale tickets for a band I was in. I saw a white van slowly pull up with a guy's foot hanging out the window. I looked closely and saw it was Mike Tiner. I went up and introduced myself loudly. The whole band was in the van aside from Jason, which this was right around the time Chris was out. They were such awesome dudes. I later met Ben Orum after a show, also at the Masquerade some time later during Summer Slaughter. I bought him a Blue Moon and chatted with him. My guitarist and Mike talked outside about bro jobs and getting married up north. Those guys were hilarious. That was a different time. I remember slapping Tosin Abasi on the back one afternoon outside the Masq and I don't even think he was playing that show.

Just subscribed to your channel my friend. I started listening to metal music since July of 2018 and I have discovered quite a lot of interesting metal bands shortly after I listened to some metal songs. If you want to, check out a metal band that is called My Dying Bride.

the thing is that lee got a huge ego from the guitar writing of Cam, so it was only Karma that he was overshadowed by jason. if lee didnt have that ego and claim to fame through cam, no one would have rated jason over him so much.

I don't think people enjoy the shredding stuff after hearing everyone do it. I love guitar solos more than anything but in today's world i feel like people tend to make it seem like a competition instead of creativity. I think more people will appreciate Lee's work with BOO because it's not just pure out of this world shred but more groove. Jason writes grooves but goddamn he will then melt your face away with the solos which I guess to me thats excellent but to others who don't appreciate guitar like that is just doodling around making weird noises.

In a interview with Cameron, he states that he wrote and recorded everything on The New Reign and everything on A Higher Place besides Exist. Cameron is an absolute monster when it comes to music, don’t believe me? Check out his solo project Unsolicited, there’s some serious old school BOO vibes. Lee also is an absolute monster too, he had some issues when Jason got the boot but, Lee was able to to play the solos pretty quick. I honestly think that Jason leaving was actually good for Lee, and forced him to grow as a musician.

Enjoyed them during the time they were active. Later my band INVERTICRUX would have the honor of opening for them in New England 2011. I tried trading cd's with the founder (RIP), but he said he needed the road money. After seeing us live on stage with me as front man, he got back to us after our set with the "Pursuit" album and then wanted to trade it for one of our releases of the time. That rocked!!!!

We were bands around the same. He even came to a show of ours. He bought a shirt aswell. So he was a fan. He said i like your riffs. Haha any whonplayed with him quite abit. My old bud was gonna play bass for them for a european tour they were gonna do. Right before he died. Crazy shit but yeah its sad shit. I understand him. He is a poet.

5:00 yeah, I’m a fan that stopped listening to them after Tomorrow We Die Alive, but those first few albums are masterpieces. New Reign, which is probably the majority of everyone’s favorite album, the rawness of it was Metallica’s Kill’em All like it was kind of grainy sounding and there are just some albums, where it works. Yeah when I saw Lee couldn’t play some of Jason’s parts I kind of was like well I think ish is about to change dramatically. Cam’s solo project, which is so friggin’ mind blowing, is how I got back into them again. I think Cam should’ve taken the guitar spot over and then they should’ve found a new drummer. That way Lee could’ve kept his spot at rhythm and Cam could’ve taken over lead. But I have a sneaking suspicion that Cam likes the drums the most so that’s just the way the cookie crumbles i guess. We all have our reasons for following a band and once Jason left, we saw him do so well in his own solo-ish project with that other well known drummer, Luke Holland. When you go to a show and someone can’t play the songs thatve been written, that’s a pretty bad look in the eyes of a music fan, so the reaction, if understand the human being, was quite warranted atm, but now that I see they’ve remedied this, by getting a guitar player who might be able to? So far the only song I’ve heard that I actually like is White Nile. I guess I need to hear more of Lee’s solo stuff.
