So, I have been in VRChat since 2023 or so (quit last year), at the time the idea of online dating was appealing to me, and my partner (with whom I’m with to this day) had introduced it to me, I had gotten a headset and I dived into the VRChat once I had it, it was great because you had a more dynamic and more intimate way to date I guess, for me at least. VRChat is…an odd beast to say the least, I met a couple of great people there, went to various public, private and what are called "group worlds", first time i joined a world that I have heard was very infamous for having kids just saying slurs out loud in public, I swear the first word i heard once I had joined a random instance was the N-word, it took me by surprise, but other than that, there have been more instances where people were drinking at bar worlds, they were chill mostly from my experience, though I've heard from a couple of people I’ve met throughout my time in VRC, who are much more familiar with VRC than I am, they say that there are people who get so incredibly drunk that they ruin their lives in order to feed this addiction for alcohol. Not to mention 18+ group instances hosting party nights with dancers, (which I came to find out that you can pay for private dances), though for me, a person who struggles with socializing and expressing myself with comfort or confidence in general, at least people always respected each other's boundaries no matter what, which was great for me especially. Lots of people are in VRChat for various reasons, I’ve met a wonderful person who was in a really tough spot, isolated in real life because of a medical condition, and I’ve talked with them, they shared some experiences with me, it was great and really made me realize how unfair it is for some people to be shamed for just playing VRChat when there’s a bit more to it than just degenerates (not denying that they exist either, obviously). On the brighter side, it’s an incredibly eye-opening experience if you know where to look, I’ve seen a little bit of everything from my time on VRC, people form long-lasting friendships, play games together, watch movies together, talk, play DND and even spend an enormous amount of time choosing an Avatar (been there). I’ve met people who gave me genuine life-changing advice, I’ve slept in VRC a couple of times, sometimes my head would hurt, other times not, but I always remember it just having been a great night overall. If you plan on playing VRChat and you have problems with socializing or just don't want to get involved with problematic people, VRChat will not be the place for you for the most part (social game duh), it will drain you more often than not, it will make socializing both a blessing and a curse depending on your experience, but you’ll very often meet groups of people that are all friends one week and then break off quick the next. As for the addiction part, it’s true, I’ve been there, and I know people who are still there since the very inception of the game, I know people who have bought entire VR body sets just for VRC, people who bought headset that could imitate your eye movement in-game (yes, that technology exists and works on VRC). That said, great when you come in with a fresh view and don’t take it too seriously, but incredibly draining and depressing once you do I don’t recommend playing VRChat, not at this stage unfortunately, it’s golden days are long since past and it’s only amounting more and more problems from what I’ve heard lately.

All Minecraft Servers need a way to moderate their player base, and the cheapest option is to elect a player to support and later to moderator; these roles only give you the right to order other players around, but not get paid for babysitting children. The only role that gets paid is Developer and Server Owner. The Server Owner obviously needs a way to keep the server running, and the dev gets paid for designing systems that keep the players stay on the server, and eventually make them pay for benefits on the server. But having experience as support or moderator is good on your staff applications for other servers, when you quit the other servers eventually. Makes you want to keep the power to order others around.
