Please dont feel deflated. Your contributions are appreciated. I only just found your channel and really like your presentation style. I have tried FreeCad many time over the years only to get frustrated and not use if. This time I am determined to push through. Your videos have already helped me. On a side note, there are millions of KZbin channels, all wanting people to subscribe. From a viewers perspective we only have a limited time on KZbin each day. If I was to subscribe and comment on every video Ive watched, that would take forever. For you, I think its best to take comfort in knowing that people DO appreciate your work, but in this day and age we zoom about from one channel to the next. I fully understand though that you want some kind of feedback and way of measuring peoples appreciation. I get it !! EDIT: 61 thousand subscribers !!! Thats pretty impressive!! No no, stop for a moment and think about a sports stadium filled with people who have subscibed to your channel. Come on man, thats massive.

That was remarkably unhelpful outside of being an advertisement for FreeCAD. Was expecting a video that actually explains the functions of the program.

I love your stye and excellent english - BUT, version 21.2 behaves differently. When I tried to constrain the upper and lower arcs to the center - I got errors. No matter what i did it would not let me constrain. So I started again with the outside sketch first, then the circles and everytning worked ok.

What is the specifications required for pc to run 3d software program like freecad/spaceclaim and others
@FreeCADAcademyАй бұрын
It’s enough to have a standard office pc . The software can get a lot more demanding if you’re working with high complexity models - but to run FreeCAD you don’t need a strong pc.

The Most important Part of a Free CAD Software is if it can Export in the Right File Formate for Manufakturing
@FreeCADAcademyАй бұрын
what file formats are you looking for?
@andrelanger8396Ай бұрын
@@FreeCADAcademy I had a project in my Uni where i Wanteded to use the Lasercutter but which needs dxf or svg from Drawings. But NX student only exportet in stl or in Jpg the drawing. So i had to redo the whole project in a new Software. But in the begining of the Project i did not know which file was needed for the laser. Because it was the first time working with one. and i was not planed for the manaufacturing on the project
@FreeCADAcademyАй бұрын
Could you export the 3D file to Step? You can import Step Files to other CAD software like Onshape and FreeCAD and create then the SVG/DXF from the drawing. If you can only export 3D files to stl -> run and use a different Software.

I personnaly not liking video when the youtuber speak too much because i have to wait or search in the video what i need so i REALLY like when it's straight forward.There is so much things to learn (and i'm speaking in general,not only freecad)that i think video focused on functions rather than a whole design is better...A few minutes video of 2 or 3 functions (depend of the complexity of the functions)is the absolute best things to do.My opinion off course.And some time a design start to finish we can watch more like a documentary.Anyway good luck to you Stolz.

I changed my theme like you but it looks different which is okay. In my menus the black check marks are hard to see in the black background. Mine does not have a place (that I can see) to change that color. Maybe it because you are using 0.22.0 and I still have version 0.21.2. . I don't find the assembly workbench. Maybe it has to do with the version number too. When I go to freeCAD to down load the new version, the download is the same version I have. I am not sure where you got the new version. Something that is important to me is to have the same version as the teacher, then I know if something does not work, I can watch a little closer to see what I did wrong. I did go to the community tab and filled it out. I learned Fusion360 which is a great program, but they kept making changes to who and how you could use it. It seemed I had to jump through hoops every time I wanted to use or just look at an old file. The reason I picked FreeCAD is that it is on my computer and I can use it as little or lot and no hoops. I have to admit that FreeCAD is harder for me to learn. Thanks very much.

I believe staying with keeping stock settings is important, especially with tutorials for beginners. Your first tutorial would need to show all the things you changed, and you would need to point this out with each new installment, or you would need to go over the chages with each new tutorial.

@@FreeCADAcademy Sir I have suggestions for this channel. I think this would be exciting and challenging as a returning youtuber. 1. First and foremost is to correct/clarify the notion that FreeCAD is hard to learn or the UI is cr*p. Many people are hesitant to use FreeCAD because of this notion in their mind plus other people told them so (in person and internet). So I think an introductory video is necessary to clarify, inspire, and instruct. 2. I subscribed to this channel because I thought at first that it is the official YT channel of FreeCad. Well I realized it wasnt. lol. But i think there are three main audiences to this program. a. Architecture student/anyone interested in Arch. b. Civil Engineering student/anyone interested in CE c. Mechanical Engineering student/anyone interested in ME So for me I am hoping for videos like: a. 2D/3D Drafting (Architecture) b. FEM/BIM (Civil Engineering) c. Part Design/Robotics (Mechanical Engineering) 3. 3D Printing/Printer is getting cheaper and becoming prevalent nowadays so I think you have somehow to get along with the trend. I think 3D printing will become mianstream at some point in the future or at least in the future. So I think it would be an edge for you if you already have knowledge and experience in 3D printing. You can start with these suggestions but please be reminded that these are suggestions only. Im not trying to dictate you or anything. I simply like to help. If you have these already in mind then its awsome! Unfortunately Im not at this time capable of supporting in terms of $ but when I can, I will donate. Cheers!
