Tiger painting great! Panda too!

So hard to choose only one, but Zebra for me. It feels cohesive and ready to hang even without the finishing touches. I would choose the tiger with the heart or Jake's bird with the crown as a close second. The elements they added when they lost their source is what sets them over the edge to me. Gave me some great ideas for my own work. With more time, I am sure the juxtaposition mentioned during the critiques would have intuitively been more developed. (And also, the tiger does feel a heavier on the left, so something to balance that would help make it feel complete. I'm just sharing what I'd lean to if it were my own work. I never know when to stop, so I really loved this challenge. Thanks guys! ❤

I’ve been loving these shows so much. There’s something special happening throughout all the seasons which I haven’t been able to work out yet. But love love love what you’re putting out there for us to see. I go with the tiger for fantastic use of colour

Idk about Brie's... they went way too dark and she contradicts herself. He wanted direction because its her painting and was telling her what he would do and all she said was no without telling him what to do instead. Then complaining she had to teach him how to paint. Like no, its just everything he did you said was wrong. I also think it's funny that she mentioned she was going to do exactly what elli did when she used her lifeline. We all know she wasn't going to add those highlights and was going to add two dark sections in the foreground on the bottom corners... but sure girl. I'm sure it would have looked exactly the same lol.

Van Gogh painted almost all his work in last few years of his life. That's 1 or 2 finished paintings / day. You need to go much faster.

Oh my God, I was looking for this for like two weeks trying to watch the first season of outstanding artist thank you guys though you put it out again now I can finish the season because I started it with the third and then gone to the second now I’m gonna finish the first and then hopefully next year I’m gonna get into the Mastery program. I've been waiting to see this, and it certainly was fun watching the first episode of the first of what has become The Outstanding Artist. I learn something as an artist every time I watch an episode. Each artist did an amazing job in the time, given the restraints and losing their sources (an amazing opportunity to let go and be creative! Wow!), and the results were very cool. I have to say that the zebra that John did in that short time blew my mind. I can hardly wait to see the next episode... but now I'm inspired and am going to paint!

It all looks the same

THE ONLY REASON AM WATCHING THIS VLOG IS BECAUSE I AM TOTALLY INFATUATED WITH "ELLI" 😅 OMG, ELLI YOU ARE SUCH A BEAUTIFUL WOMAN, I SIMPLY CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF YOU.....& YEAH, AM AN ARTIST FROM THE SOUTH CARIBBEAN 🇹🇹 ALSO......SO, AM DEFINITELY GONNA BE FOLLOWING THIS AS MUCH AS I CAN ❤ !!!!

I don't understand the appeal of a "finished" painting looking like an underpainting. The transparency and streakiness is much different than confident brush strokes. I paint, I completely understand the value and basic necessity of layers. But, when there's bold color that is still so transparent with little to no layers, I can't look at it as a finished piece. I get it's not easy to work on a wet piece but having no highlights whatsoever... idk. All the "mentors" need to get on the same page. If they're not able to explain the challenge collectively, how do they expect ANYONE else to? Do a bright under painting or it's going to be boring and uninteresting. You can't do a bright under painting, it needs to be a thousand shades of grey without using black mixed with white. Then they're going to be judged by the person who told them to paint with color while all their paintings are 50 shades of grey and get points taken away. The way they explain everything is extremely frustrating for me, I can't imagine how it is for the artists.
