hey! this was not meant as a step by step follow me along on how to use 2020. It would take way longer, we wanted to show in general what it looks like behind the scenes of putting together a kitchen drawing. Thank you though for watching and leaving your comment. If you are looking for input on anything in particular let me know 🙂

Thanks Kerstin for the F.U. I agree the 1300 line pricing is very aggressive and if they stand behind their product should be a great value. Just wanted to add that it also comes in the Shaker cabinet style.

Great video! What’s the cost difference between dura supreme Covington door style versus Craftsman both framed please? Ty.
@thematerialbar
@thematerialbar 12 күн бұрын
The Covington Door is a price group 5 and the craftsman panel without the bead is a 4. If you add the bead detail to the craftman door it will become a price group 7. So the covington is slightly more affordable. This may result in a few $100 on an average project but until you price it out we can't tell. I hope this helps!! Thanks for watching!

Concrete?
@thematerialbar
@thematerialbar 12 күн бұрын
Hi, I only want to speak to surfaces I have been involved with and I have never worked with a concrete countertop. I have talked to several people about it and heard it can crack down the road. It's also a porous material which is not ideal for certain spaces. I'd be curious to hear what people's experiences have been with it.

Thanks for the video. We just ordered some slim shaker doors and drawers in a cream colour. What types of knobs/pulls suit that style, and where would you place the hardware? We're thinking black and maybe an inch or so away from the edge of the trim for the doors and centred for the drawers, but don't know if that's typical.
@thematerialbar
@thematerialbar 12 күн бұрын
1.5" from the edges is a pretty typical setting for knobs and pulls but it can vary depending on door style. I would sit it and see if you like it from further away. I personally love a nice brass with cream colors or sometimes even matte black as it's a nice contrast but all depends on other colors you have in the home and if they look good with it too. You really can't go wrong with any of the silvers either, they are timeless.
@SB-pc3wt
@SB-pc3wt 12 күн бұрын
@@thematerialbar Thanks! Do you mean to place it 1.5" from the edge of the door or from the right edge of the trim? Thanks again!
@thematerialbar
@thematerialbar 12 күн бұрын
@@SB-pc3wt Typically it's from the edge of the door. There are these plastic templates you can buy at the hardware store it's only a few dollars and they have all the standard spacings. Typically you will see people on drawers placing them in the center height of the drawer but we always prefer sitting them the same height from the top of the drawer all throughout. This is a personal preference but then on larger drawers you don't have to bend down so far....🙂
@SB-pc3wt
@SB-pc3wt 12 күн бұрын
@thematerialbar Thanks! I didn't realize they had templates for that kind of thing. I'll have a look tomorrow. Interesting point about placement of the pulls on drawers. That does make sense! Thanks for being so helpful! ❤

What is dolomite?
@thematerialbar
@thematerialbar 24 күн бұрын
Hi and thanks for tuning in! A dolomite is a form of stone. One of the most common dolomites used in Kitchens is a color called Fantasy Brown. The stone itself is formed on the surface of the earth, as opposed to granite which is formed inside of earth in chambers. It also has typically warm earthy colors. I hope this helps!! 🙂

How much should a kitchen remodel design cost?
@thematerialbar
@thematerialbar Ай бұрын
Christine, great question! Typically if you work with an interior Designer they will charge anywhere from 8-10% of your total project cost. Our company has a team of specialized Kitchen & Bath designers which is way different and because we focus on selling the materials like cabinets and more, our design fee is a way smaller amount. In the next 3 months we will be adding downloadable design packages & templates to the website ready to purchase for people taking on their design themselves to give you all the necessary input you will need to do it yourself! I hope this helps and thanks for watching 🙂

Hi Kirsten: another couple MAJOR decision points are the the size of the sink and be sure to explain the the cabinet below has to be a certain size to accommodate the sink and the number or configuration of bowls in sink; and now there are also workstation sinks. So it would help if an expert could help people take into consideration the way they work at their sink and what type of sink would be best. 🥰

Hi Kerstin. I hope you can see the question about kitchen island. I am trying to use the Bellmont 1600 drawer base cabinet to build the island. 1st question. Is it possible to install a GFCI on the side of the cabinet without interfering the drawers? If not, Should I install a spacer between the side of the cabinet and then the side panel. Is a 2" spacer enough? Or can I install the GFCI at the back of the cabinet? Will it interfering the closing of the drawers? 2nd question. If I want to have 15" overhang counter top on the 24" base cabinet, I have to install a L bracket. Do I have to build a pony wall behind the cabinet to do that? Or I can install a 2x6 at the inside back of the cabinet, and mount the L bracket there? It is possible with a frameless Bellmont 1600? Thank you.
@thematerialbar
@thematerialbar 2 ай бұрын
Hi and thanks for watching!! We had electricians install the outlet on the sides of drawer bases without any issues. You can check with whoever your Bellmont dealer is and ask for the drawer clearances. There is a whole chart with references. Depending on your local juristiction you may not be allowed by code to put the outlet on the back side "IF" you have a countertop overhang. I would check with your electrician. You do not need a pony wall behind the cabinet. The only time I have a pony wall is when I have plumbing going into the island so I am able to keep the most space inside of my cabinets. So using the L-bracket without the pony wall will be perfectly fine 🙂Yes, totally doable with the 1600 line 🙂

According to every shop I’ve been to in researching countertops. quartz absolutely has “resin burn” issues with heated pots/pans….no?
@thematerialbar
@thematerialbar 2 ай бұрын
Hey thanks so much for watching. Quartz is a manmade product and can tolerate heat to higher temperatures than natural stone. Many quartz manufacturers will say it's safe to use up to a certain temperature but people typically do not take into consideration that there is a thermal shock between the colder countertops and the even hotter pot. I've had people tell me they stood their pots on counters with no issues but I've also seen someone do it and accidenticaly sit their pot on a seam and it cracked the seam. Long story short, I would always suggest to protect your countertops with a trivet. It's an expensive investment and I would personally want to protect it. Hope this helps!
