Thanks Kristen, great video! Perfect for non-techy home cooks. Quick question: Would you please advise the Minimum island space for two chairs? Also, can the third empty wall accommodate kitchen cabinets for catering needs? Worried your cabinets might not offer enough capacity.

Hi and thanks for watching!! the minimum space per chair is 2 feet so it you end up with a 4' island you can easily fit 2 people. Every wall you can find can hold cabinetry and you can modify depths as you want to accommodate for minimum walkway clearances 🙂I hope this helps!!

Hi there! Thanks for watching. It's really hard to tell because every area is different. I recommend taking a look at the yearly report done by Houzz it's called the cost vs. value report and it's a report for the whole country and breaks up into the states and different areas with averages for different types of projects. It's a great tool to start the budgeting and planning phase.

Thank you Kerstin! Couple questions…what is the appliance on the peninsula? A microwave? Seems like an awfully large opening for what is there AND they have to bend over to get to it. Also, I love you were trying to walk us through with your stylus; maybe use a bright bold color that stands out from the schematic more? And maybe change the color every so often and call it out as you explain because I had a hard time following what you were describing sometimes and there was a delay to when they stylus line would appear and/or it took me a minute to find it because it was a blue color and the schematics also had blue in them. Thank you so much for these before/after videos!!! It is soooo hard to design and envision a space and as a homeowner, it’s a bit stressful because I want the outcome to look great and minimize regrets.

Hi Cherie!! Thanks for watching! We went over all the different spots where we could have sat the microwave and this was our clients top choice. We used a larger opening in case they wanted to swap out the microwave to a build in drawer unit down the road. Thanks for the feedback, Courtney and me are working hard on getting better with clips in the video and I'll make sure to use a brighter color on the next video!! 🙂 I totally agree and if you can think of a topic you would like to see a video on, please leave in the comments!! I am always looking for more ideas!! 🙂
