I love how clearly you show your alterations. I’m not sure if you are still posting new content but if you are, having video snippets about various specific alterations would certainly be fine to save you the effort of repeating them each time. Happy sewing!

What a great tutorial. I bought a mount cutting tool a few years ago and just couldn’t seem to figure it out. Ended up going to a framers and it was really expensive. I have some prints to go in my bathroom and I’m definitely going to use your method. genius.!

Instead of playing around until the margins are equal, measure the card, subtract the desired measurement of exposed picture and divide by two . What I was looking for was how to bevel the edges.

I made a curved waistband for the Lander pants. They fit so much nicer than the rectangle / straight pattern piece. I also und that the buttons have to be sewn closer to the opening to have the fly sit nicely. I love the denim blue outfit; the colour is so lovely.

Better to use a metal rule, rather than a plastic one, otherwise, if the craft knife has a half-decent blade, you finish up taking small slivers of plastic out of your rule.

What a lovely video! I loved seeing the thimbles and the buttons. My grandmother also sewed (she studied dressmaking at vocation school) and had a treadle sewing machine, that unfortunately has disappeared as she died over fifteen years ago and none of her children and grandchildren at the time know how to sew. I wonder what that metal Singer thing was.

I have many fond memories of playing in and with my Granny's tin of buttons. My Mom had the expandable box like that. Thanks for sharing. It brought back many cherished memories for me.

Fabulous blouses! ❤ I’m in the process of making this and as always it’s a pain with Big 4 companies trying to pick the right size. It’s either a 10 or a 12 for me. 😬 I waste so much time on this. Happy to have found your channel!

Lizzie, I have made 3 swim suits. The 1st one was a bit nerve racking (measure 5 times and sew twice). On the 2nd one I decided to make it a bit more simpler design, which came out perfect. The 3rd one was even better. Just go for it! But, make the 1st one very simple and easy.

I'm using wrapping paper with grid lines on the back for pattern paper - just started sewing again after 25 years away, and saw this on another channel. It works fabulously well for drafting your own patterns.

Greetings Lizzie, I have a suggestion: When making an item which is of rare or expensive fabric or limited amount of the fabric, Always do a mock-up with either cheap fabric(old bed sheets) or muslin. We all do booboos, some costly and/or other non-fixable. And that is ok. This is how we learn and let other new sewers know. Happy sewing

Well I had no idea about the pattern sizing (upper bust 3 inch info) that is so helpful. I am always struggling with fitting patterns to my body shape. I have taken a pattern cutting class to try and draft my own patterns because of the way I am made...(so frustrating) So I guess I said all this to say I really enjoyed your video on pattern fitting and would love to see more. Thank you so much for sharing all your fitting information.

I was using this book to help teach my daughter how to sew. I'm an advanced dressmaker but I thought this book would be great. We started on the head scarf and im utterly confused. It said 25.5" long x 6" wide to make the pattern. This was insanely small it won't even tie around my daughters head let alone have the nice excess for the bow that you have. Did i miss something? I went back and reread it multiple times because i was in utter shock when we were done. Kinda killed the enjoyment to see her work so hard and not get to enjoy it.

The orange/black stretch fabric - I would do a loose turtle neck. For the blue fabric, be sure to check the back of the pattern on what type of fabric is suited for it. I made the mistake of trying to make top with the wrong fabric and It was an awful. The feather fabric, I see a scarf. I am glad to see you had fun,.

Hiya, when you cut out the mount it would be better to hold the ruler on the other side of the pencil line, as its easier to see the line and if the knife slips you would only be cutting on the side that you dont need.
