Every time I try to render my sequence, unreal crashes? I know it’s not gpu, any ideas?

Any ideas why when I do the stars everything has a gray hue to it? Almost like everything became Smokey. I didn’t see it mentioned but I assumed because we were “going to be inside it” I just had to scale up the stars sphere to encase everything, but yeah now I have smokey universe😂

@@MrHolltwow you’re super fast😂 no I do not, it’s 5.5 so could be something with that, I found a work around if I add a base color from a constant three vector it changes the main color of the sphere from a translucent grey to black👍

@@ImagingIntheSky 5.5? This happened to me today. Click the plus symbol above that notification 3 times. Then name each layer as you named it in your material. If you followed this it will be Base, Mid, Top. When you do that they should populate accuratly.

@@MrHollt I re did this entire thing again, I am missing the base albeto, mid albeto and the top albeto (the actual ones you check, I do see the intensity and the tint) I am trying to upload a photo but seems to be no way to do it

To simplify it, i'll suggest to enable "allowed static lighting" in project setting , this will fix the extreme dark shadows visible on quixel assets.

Hello thank you for the video that's really good to know...Also using the foilage material will make your static mesh assets use masked materials witch will add extra costs especially when using nanite. Use the default material or in the material instance at the bottom you can switch it over to opaque. Sorry if this annoyed you...

Do you have any ideas for doing this in the new Fab workflow? I'm an over the hill VFX artist and professor trying to teach this. I have until Tuesday to try to help a student with her final project for the semester. I can't get any of the assets now that Fab has assimilated Quixel.

@@seancollett6 UE got a lot of complaints so they brought quixel bridge back. So that workflow seen here should work. If you still want to use Fab to get to the quixel library open fab via your project. Type in grass and search for a quixel grass material. It should be in the second row. Hover over it and you’ll see the quixel “Q” logo. Click on that and it’ll take you to all the quixel assets. Then search for everything there. Also to you and all your students, claim the quixel library while you can since it’s immensely helpful and switching over to paid EOY.

Only when I used movie render queue, It says "cut state uninitialized" and won't render my videos. only legacy seems to work. any ideas how to fix this?

Haha what a solution to high res rendering at the end there. "It crashes so bring the resolution down" How production ready, I'll just tell my clients we can't deliver 4k because unreal crashes.

@@pandoraskeyboard well you up res it and then down res it. So if you want 4k and you follow this tutorial you’ll get be kicking out 1.5 x 4k and then down res it to 4k. Which is why it is taxing. So if it crashes either reduce resolution or remove that upscale.

With this material texture the edges will be noticable. The fix is a little too lengthy to explain. This fog is good for ground coverage. You can either layer them or make them larger. If you want the fix look up how to mask in a material or maybe blur edges or a material and then adapt it into the material

Maybe try manually adding in the texture. Below where you place the static mesh in the spawner should be a material override. Try adding your material there or making sure that that is empty.

I honestly wonder how much RAM you have to use PCG that way. My computer goes to maximum RAM usage after a few grass and game over.
