I live in the flats overlooking the house. It was heartbreaking watching it go up in flames 😢 even after that, eejits were still going in, even having parties, in the newer built building!! Thank you so much for allowing me to see the beautiful architecture and original features before they were all lost forever

Thanks for the interesting but also sad video lads. Having been born and bred in Paisley and recognised it was Paisley immediately, I am not in the least surprised that the place was vandalised and burnt down. Having lived there for the first 27 years of my life, Paisley was Scotland's largest town, and it was in my opinion, also one of Scotland largest crime ridden hell holes and with a council that is not much better. Having spent the next 37 year in different parts of Scotland, thankfully I have never come across the level of crime or poor town management that was in Paisley. That building in its day (The old House part) would have been outstanding like many of the older structures in paisley. However many of these structures like the old RAI hospital and the many mill buildings (Except Anchor Mill), have all been allowed to be destroyed by poor council decisions. Thanks for making the long journey up to record the building and as you say, its a pity that many of the other explorers don't have the ethics that the three of you always demonstrate.

I will NEVER understand why some people feel the need to destroy something beautiful like this. You covered Clune Park school in Port Glasgow a while ago (I can't remember if you also got into the church next door) and those are earmarked for demolition now too because so many people went in to set fire to the place. I'm glad to have been able to see inside this beautiful old house, and I'm sad that it's gone.

That’s a bit heartbreaking. One of the last things humans intrinsically have for free, that hasn’t been tainted or taken away, is an ability for awe and wonder...and the artisan craft in construction like this is a big part of that. Sadly replaced with more functional, lower quality, less esoteric form as time passes so these last surviving hidden gems are a true loss. Thank you so much for documenting it so well

What a shame to see such a stunning building and years of history lost forever. I find it very suspicious how so many listed or historic buildings have been going up in flames recently. Earlier this month we had the grade iii listed former Odeon Cinema in Hartlepool up in flames and is currently being demolished, and lost other fine buildings such as the Crooked House Pub in Staffordshire and the old grade ii listed cinema in Preston (as visited by this channel) also lost by fire. What's particularly odd is how we very rarely find out the cause of these fires or it's teenagers and their identity is protected. They are almost always a complete burn out too. Can't help but think this is done intentionally so someone or some big business can get their hands on the land

As well as your videos are fantastic but always leave me cross and upset that the extraordinary beauty that you find inside these places which is quite unusual is allowed to just go. I’m sure it could have been created into a public space or something and is beyond sad that they allow places like this to deteriorate to the point they need to be demolished as they are getting rarer and rarer
@JP_TaVeryMuch2 ай бұрын
Yes, we're all so far stating what a good video and what a crying shame it is what's happened to the grand old girl. I'm imagining the place a couple of years in the future as beautifully restored and worthy of its listing. Not just that but the culprits justly exposed to the full weight of the law. Likewise the owner obliged by the law and the listing too to rebuild and return it phœnix~like to better than original. And the de-listing planners de-bagged. It might sound fanciful but it's finally being done with listed buildings in England that suffer suspicious circumstances and should have been the norm for donkeys. Best of all, they'd have to use this vid as a major reference of how it looked.
@zombienation68Ай бұрын
Wonder if there was a failed planning application just before the fire started, seems to be the norm in England, guessing Scotland has its similarities
@BulbExplorationАй бұрын
We attempted to visit this one late last year but when we arrived outside we could hear kids inside ransacking the place. Walking around the back we could see children who looked like they were about ten years old staring out at us through the windows, as well as older teenagers who were bawling and shouting. We left, planning to come back another day but sadly never got round to it before the inevitable fire destroyed the place. Apparently the police were being called to it constantly and I feel sorry for the elderly people who live in the sheltered housing opposite who had to put up with two years of hoodlums wrecking the place. People point the finger at urbexers for rinsing it on social media and KZbin but the question must be asked of why the owners allowed the building to sit with zero security for so long, especially given it was in an area well known for anti-social behaviour?
@UrbandonedАй бұрын
It is true that some places should be secure, especially when they are being visited an awful lot, but it tends to be urbexers that publicises locations over anyone else. If it wasn't publicised, local kids aren't going to do research. They will only visit when it's handed to them, expressed that it is a wide open abandoned building with no sensors or security.
