Jacqui McShee sent me her autograph a few months ago with an accompanying hand writing greeting on a post card and one of their old programmes. Because I'm a fan and we'll never see their like again. Ever!

Had one of their records in college but my ears were way too green. I love the contrast between their unassuming stage presence and chilling delivery, reminding us that there was a time when intensity of purpose and the music itself did all the talking. So sad I missed seeing them but so grateful for their work.

I was raised on rock n roll, but I occasionally listen to Pentangle for their amazing music. It's so nostalgic and haunting at times. All the players are great but her voice is out of this world beautiful❤❤❤!!

I wasn't even a teenager when this was happening. They were on a show called GTK (just before the 7pm news) but were way too much for my 10 year old ears only really discovering this music now. Better late than never.

Substance over image. What a talented group of brilliant musicians each of the members of Pentangle were. Thank you. Lyrics: There’s people on the highway, People in the towns, You just can’t get away; I’m a-going to the mountains, Going by the sea, You won’t see me again. Chorus: Gonna move on buddy, Gonna leave my trouble and worry behind, Find a new home to rest my uneasy mind For it’s better to be going, Better to be moving Than clinging to your past; Love is made from living, And dreams are made of sleeping, Better catch it while it lasts. Sweet lady she won’t call Or knock upon my door, She won’t see me at all; And every word I’ve said, Everything I done, Will not turn her pretty head Now if I stay I’ll lose out, For the dealer deals too fast And the game’s turned about; So I think I’ll try a new game, One I understand, Then my life won’t be in vain When you’re feeling kind of blue, Kind of mixed up inside, And good times are few; When every day brings the rain In a never ending flood, And you’re on your own again And when it’s hard to decide What should be your next move And what’d be the outcome; And when sunny days roll by And pass you unnoticed, And time ceases to run.

You're quite right! Apologies, Mr Cox, and may you live to an even riper old age. Could have sworn I read that somewhere; I knew he hadn't played regularly for years but I saw their reunion at the Festival Hall in 2008 and thought he'd passed not long after. That gig was all I'd hoped and more - neve thought I'd see the original line-up again. They didn't play, this, though! @@dav01kar
