Video is great but some text indicating where you were would be helpful. Some commentary at your stops even better.

Do you floor it sometimes? I have read that sometimes you need floor it or drive at high RPMs in order to “clean” that gunk.. thanks for the video.

I had idle issues, so I took a look at this and it was even worse than yours. I have 110k km which is about 68k miles. I took off entire intake and cleaned it with supermafrasol over night. Now my Touareg runs as new.

Thankyou for this excellent video, best one out there. Just done this job on an audi A7 and it was incredibly helpful. Some tips from my experience: I had to pre load one of the intake bolts which had a very tight gap when re installing. I think it was the front one. For the egr clamp I used torque of 6nm plus a 90 degree turn to tighten it back up. Also when removing the intake be very careful to remove the tube that connects to the coolant reservoir. You have to disconnect this as it runs over the intake. I tried to lift it over and snapped it off and this delayed my re build. Thanks again!

I've been wondering where my leaks were. Yahtzee!! Great video. I can't wait to see how much build up is in all my intake parts.
@Comma3x5 ай бұрын
Great video, will do this soon too, low throttle stutters a bit. Do you plan to add an oil-catch-can? I read that will reduce the build-up from returning.

For what it's worth, I am just doing a transmission and differential oil change on my Z3 2.8 manual from year 2000 . It is fitted with a Torsen 25% lsd differential. The oil I am using for the differential is Amsoil Synthetic Severe Gear 75W/110 which appears to be the right oil for the Torsen lsd. For the gearbox, I am using Redline D4 ATF which is recommended on the "moment of ZED" youtube channel.

was the issue the oil cooler or just the gasket because you put new one in

Nice 👍 when you assembled everything, was it necessary to connect the car to the computer and remove any errors? I already ordered the parts
@kurt_yates7 ай бұрын
It definitely helps to drain the oil. I had a fresh oil change a week before I started this project and when I pulled the oil cooler up the top of the motor filled up with oil. I only had coolant on the top of the engine when I started the project. I just need to buy the parts, and finish the project hopefully in the next week or two. Thank you for posting this video. It’s really helpful.

Thank you! This video is very helpful. Did this issue set off any OBD codes? I have this same issue but prior to discovering it I received a coolant temperature sensor code that kept appearing until I replaced all 3 coolant temp sensors. Less than 5k miles later the same code is back again?! (Yes, after clearing the code each time) Any additional insight is much appreciated.
