I am a woman, not able to do repairs myself. I am considering a Jeep Grand Cherokee 2019-2022. Does anyone have any experience, especially maintenance cost related? I've reviewed your initial review on Cherokee, and now this one has me very scared...😮 Not recommended for a later model?

Forgot, to you and all your viewers with 2014 and 2015's with the 3.6 (not sure about prior years). If you live in a hot area or experience hot seasons, and you haven't replaced your thermostat housing, do yourself a favor and replace it now. They're plastic and they will crack at the bend. Jeep upgraded the part with a beefier reinforcement in 2016. Either get the upgraded part, or buy a metal aftermarket one. Mine cracked at 60,000 miles. It's a common thing, but super easy to do yourself for a $30 part. I'm at 110,000 miles and getting ready to tackle my spark plugs. Since getting to the oil cooler is not that much harder, I'll be replacing my oil cooler with an all aluminum one instead of the plastic/metal combo that is OEM. To be fair, Jeep isn't the only manufacturer putting way too much plastic in the engine components, but they have a nack for putting them in hard to get to places

I thought I had the dreaded tick, but I got lucky. I was in a hurry after doing an oil change and banged the plastic engine cover down not realizing it wasn't aligned and broke (brain fart- can't remember the name of the hose) the hose that runs under the left side of the engine cover from. It was actually where the hose connects into the plastic part I can't remember the name of. Real loud ticking. Temporarily superglued and taped it till the part I ordered came in and thankfully it worked. Hoping yours turns out to be a simple fix.

For the radio, press mute button and tune button simultaneously for a couple of secs to restart the infotainment screen. I have a 2015 that's been great. Some quirks, yes. Overall it's been great. I replaced the radio with an Apple carplay and AA capable one I got off of ebay. I wanted to get the updated radio and face, but it's a completely different 2 piece unit and I needed to keep it compatible with all my PAC camera (4) modules. Plus, even though the 2019+ looks better and more modern, I found the ledge on my original faceplate perfect for me to place my fingers on to steady them while I make whatever selection with my index finger. Trying to tap the screen on a bumpy road without is a pain.

Brother, you are a lifesaver. My wife got a new job at a warehouse out in the sticks, and I could barely see anything out on that country road. Didn't realize how bad my lights were. Did the exact upgrade as you, except I went with the 3M kit as I wanted their drill attachment. Then I got those same Auxito lights, which are the bomb. Man, it's like night and day, now I can finally see the whole road. Your video doesn't do it justice, looks even better in RL. Looks just like the lights on a brand new car. Thanks a lot.

Spent 30 minutes changing one headlight in mine yesterday. Just wait until it’s time to replaced the front struts. Took me 4 hours.

2011 quadra lift suspension problems, selling cheap, looked into fixing, thousands, throwaway when this fails.

I found it easier to just remove the seat. About 15 minutes extra

I've had a 2007 FJ for 2 years. LOVE my truck. I hope to have it for many, many years. FYI, the light on the mirrors that this dude calls a "spot light" is not at all a spot light. Just a light, but pretty cool looking. Difficult to change if it burns out though.

Everything you have gone on with yours I've repaired on mine. It's a 5.7 and has had all the same issues. Rebuilt the top half of the motor because of the tic...now something is going on with the air ride. It never ends! The rack is not hard to do but its a lot of steps. Look up the process for a durango that's the best video about. There is also a video that shows the short cut to do the motor mounts. Look up how to change the oil pan gasket and you will understand how to do the mounts. Truck is a money pit if you don't do the work yourself. Never again but I love the power and dont want a new note so I keep fixing it.

The car is decent; it was my third choice behind a Cayenne and Q8, but deal I got on a nearly new X5 with 900 miles was just too good to pass up. Many thousands saved by virtue of trade in value I received. I do not like the road noise and ride of run flats which I know BMW is moving away from.

I've got a 2014 GC Limited Diesel Owned for just over 2 years, 108,000 klms. Service as required, just replaced front and rear shocks, have been told "minor" leak in power steering rack. Touch wood, other than now needing new rear tyres, it's caused no grief.

I just got rid of my 2014 Grand Cherokee overland with 142k miles and bought me a a Mercedes Benz GLE AMG COUPE. I was tired of putting money into it as well and I had never had any issues but the engine light and the leak was getting on my nerves

Also have a 14...just put almost $6k into it and still not done...on the third oil pressure sensor...just in the last 5 weeks! Too much invested now to get rid of it😢

I feel your pain man. I have a 2018 Laredo and I just passed 200k literally Sunday. I just got a P0128 code so it looks like I’m getting a termostat repair now. Also the only major fixes came were a new transmission at 171k, and a driver side axle repair. The radio is also delaminated, but otherwise everything else is good. Before I got the grand Cherokee, was considering a RAV4 or 4 Runner. Maybe in the future. Hang in there man!

I too have a BMW E30 Convertible and I love it. I think fixing things on these are just part of the experience of owning an old car and you sort to have to expect it. Think about buying an old house, it’s going to show its age and things are going to need fixing eventually. I must admit, it does get a lot of attention when out and about driving.

Never get emotionally attached to a car ,🥴, I always check Scotty Kilmer out on cars , but you did a great honest review , sometimes it’s just the car , I’ve had Acuras and Honda’s that lots of problems,so you just never know , but it is a nice ride 👍subscribed !
