Thanks. As a beginner, one year and now 74 yrs old, I struggle with consistent bow hold, but my question is about your bandana, and why you use it. I have a short goatee, and suspect that it is interfering. WHY? I often feel like my chin rest is not right. Insecure. I've come to believe the goatee is at fault. I'll try a cloth!

I've always struggled with rhythm until my teacher taught me to associate different notes with foods. For instance a quarter note = fudge Eighth notes = candy Sixteenth notes = peanut butter Half notes = ice cream Half dotted notes = ice cream cone Whole notes = ice cream sundae There are more food-word associations for more complicated rhythms, if you have a hard time with rhythms, it's definitely worth looking up. For these variations, here is what I think: 1. Peanut butter candy 2. Fudge candy Fudge candy Fudge (for practicing slowly) or can-peanut-dy-butter-can (for practicing quickly. 3.
