Please help... I have a honda accord 7th gen 2.4L automatic i have problem from shifting 1 to 2 , i think it is this dual linear solenoid as it only shifts from 1 to 2 if i only let off the throttle but it shifts perfectly when it shifts to 3 4 5 So i have a doubt that will the solenoids of 8th gen 2.4L accord will work on the 7th gen 2.4L. Can anyone help me by seeing whether the 8th gen accord solenoid will work on 7th gen accord 2.4L Note: the part numbers of 8th gen and 7th accord Solenoids are different but they appear the same (Sorry for my bad english and a huge discription)

Awesome video dude, saved me a lot of stress, perfect step by step and yes that bottom bolt was very tight, it had my feet up in the air lmao

I thought people were exaggerating about the bottom starter bolt needing a breaker bar, but just doing it myself confirmed that it is VERY tight.

Is this what the problems is when I slow down to come to a stop… the last downshift into 1st gear jolts the car and almost dies?? Is this the cause?

Thank you for the video! I had my 16 yr. old son pull his 2005 Accord V6 3.0L into the garage last night and he did 99% of the work. It went excellent just like your video and took less than an hour. It was nice to be able to do all the work from above and not have to crawl under a jacked up car. Best of all he was excited he fixed it himself!

Can I reach the starter via this route if I have a 2003 Accord 4 cylinder or does this just apply to the v6 version of the car?
@everettsims1928
@everettsims1928 6 ай бұрын
This is just for the v6, to remove it from the four cylinder you have to remove the intake which sucks

There exists something called a shift improvement kit, with special springs and drills to enlarge oil passages. Be nice to know if this is any good.

This is how all tutorials should be. Made it so simple. I would add one thing; used a breaker bar on the bottom 17mm bolt to break it loose. Just make sure you’re turning “lefty, loosey”. Mine was on the V6, exact same process.

Many thanks for this info. My specific issue: Was getting P0750 and P0780 when scanned. When warm there was occasional hard shift to 2nd and it wouldn't always shift to lower gears when you step on it. Cold start and reverse worked, but drive would delay with hard shift then the drive light would flash constantly and each subsequent shit would be hard. A switch off and start again would correct that. It hasn't been 2 days yet but the instant performance boost in shifting was seen after cleaning up. No more DTCs either. Only issue is I had to reuse my gaskets as I couldn't find replacement ones online. Many, many thanks!

So I have been concluding this is what is wrong w mine. It is HORRIBLE when cold. But when it gets warmer is not as bad but it still doesn’t shift well as I know it should. Would that still be consistent with a bad solenoid? Thanks JP

Too bad you didn't show the elbow grease. I would have loved to see the whole work you did. I kinda want to replace that bushing too. I did the passenger side but I can't reach the driver side. I kinda figure the subframe needs dropping.
@schifoso
@schifoso Жыл бұрын
It's really easy to remove the small subframe plate. I used a pry bar to open up the gap after the removal, and jammed a piece of wood into the gap to help keep it open. It wasn't very big. I then used a 1/4 inch socket wrench and low profile 14mm socket to remove the bolt. I found it easier to get at from the inside (like when I did the passenger side), not from the wheel side. Now for the rear sway bar bushings. That's way harder.

@@johnathanolmo8198 the only code I'm getting right now is for the vtec solenoid rocker arm crapping out. I didn't have a code prior to that though. I'm sure it could use a fluid change at this point, I'm sure it's never been changed. I'll look into that and the pressure switch.

@@xMrBlack sir that issue is your vvt solenoids (based off the code you mentioned). Switch those out (very easy) and reset the code a long with a oil change and it’ll drive like new.
