This video walked me right through the swap. I think it's worth noting some of the other videos out there fail to mention that the engine they are working on is a 4cyl. I sure was happy when I noticed I didn't have to remove the intake.

My family had a 2003 LX V6 it had the 2006 V6 rims and they sold it for $2900 with 150,000 miles with all new parts. New battery from Honda and all genuine parts from only Honda no aftermarket and we do maintain 🔧 at home. With Honda genuine fluids and oil filter and oil genuine 5w20 or Vavoline. New transmission fluid and all fresh fluids changed. My family is Willing to get a 2019 Pilot Elite or an Passport Touring. Oil change is 5000 Miles.

Thank you for the video! I had my 16 yr. old son pull his 2005 Accord V6 3.0L into the garage last night and he did 99% of the work. It went excellent just like your video and took less than an hour. It was nice to be able to do all the work from above and not have to crawl under a jacked up car. Best of all he was excited he fixed it himself!

This is how all tutorials should be. Made it so simple. I would add one thing; used a breaker bar on the bottom 17mm bolt to break it loose. Just make sure you’re turning “lefty, loosey”. Mine was on the V6, exact same process.

I thought people were exaggerating about the bottom starter bolt needing a breaker bar, but just doing it myself confirmed that it is VERY tight.

To get the bottom bolt out easier, you need a breaker bar and extension. Makes it easy

This is just for the v6, to remove it from the four cylinder you have to remove the intake which sucks

put the 17mm socket on the bolt with an extender, tap the other end of the extender hard with a hammer a couple of times, then put your ratchet back on and crank down on it, had to do this a couple of times but it eventually worked. Also pb blaster

@@shiloh4184 True. Curious what everyone's mileage was at when their Accord starter gave up the ghost. Obviously mileage doesn't tell you how many cranks and what kinda life it had but... As an example our starter has been kept outside ~18yrs on the street in MI since new and died at ~128,0000 miles so if you can verify the mileage on the starter and it's the original on the car then you might have a decent idea abt how long you can get outta one form the junkyard. I almost went that route too when I saw the initial prices at the parts store, etc. Then I found a new one on Amazon (chinese made and seller ofc) delivered in 2 days for $60. I guess we'll see what kinda life I get outta this chinese one. It was the Madlife Garage one. And with a car that wouldn't start having it delivered and also no core charge BS just seemed more convenient. To each his own.
