There’s usually holes in the flywheel, find some bolts to suit and attach a length of angle iron. Then try the back n forth , eventually it will moove- snapping the flywheel bolt is not advisable

A lot of videos I watch with a seized mother when they put oil in the cylinder the don’t tilt the engine back to let the oil go around the hole cylinder. Common sense tells you to do that

Once again I take my hat off to you, you pulled one out of the hat with this one young man and you should be proud of the result. As for passing the inspection, I think you might be in for a surprise 😊. Now I'd like to thank you for some excellent posts this year and keeping me entertained. I'd like to wish you and your family a merry Christmas and an even better new year, and have a cold one on me, cheers. Gary 🇬🇧🇬🇧

Hey Tim, are you planning to put stake pockets or something to hold sides on the bed or is it simple going to be a flatbed load carrier? Im thinking of 2 reasons myself, first being practical reasons for having sides and rear to a tray... but the second reason is to hide even more of the wavy metalwork that you're not happy with. All chat aside, that is a bloody amazing machine you have created and that finished tray WOW!!!! At first when I say the weathered wood I was like hell yeah mat or satin varnish would be a winner... Then I saw the oiled boards and there would have been way too much grey and the oils wood looks stunning. Credit to you and your dad, that's a f'kin amazing result as a project for you both. Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year to you, your awesome Dad and your respective families.... happy hangovers from Scotland

Wooohooo, I was just wondering with huge aperture of the stacks, is they a risk of water collecting at base. Was thinking a check value if extreme weather, hoods if parked up for a while. I don't know it was just a thought while watching. Also now the tray looks so good, maybe metal strip protectors as it'll be a shame to bust it up. Also some ratchet strap rings, God you could go on and on 🫣. Any hoo Tim great effort this year with boat and Rexy well done to you an dad, enjoy the festive break Happy Christmas to all the family. Very much look forward to the projects in the new year, especially you fellas going out in the bush & getting pissed as parrots by the fire 😂 👏👏👏👏🫵👍🇦🇺🇬🇧

With the back wall as warped as it is, it would drive me insane, If I were you I would cover it up with a headache rack, with a cut out for the window. But that's me, as canopy will help hide it but the real issue is that it is secure and well supported, which it is. Those warps can be hammered out with s hammer and a steel body block but it will ruin the paint. One thing that occured to me is when welding, perhaps adding some sort of heat sink of the other side might help reduce warping, like a constant stream of cold water from a well, if you have one since water from underground can be quite cold. and that way the welding on the one side will be hot but the outside is constantly having it's heat wicked away by flowing water. but I have no idea if that would work or not. other than that, you did a great job on this so far, mate! Keep up the fantastic work, I can't wait to see the deck once you're finished with the woodworking, plus the pipes back on and then the canopy after that. Putting some sealed storage boxes under the deck will be a great idea, and I can't wait to see how you make those. Do your best to make them as rugged as possible since they will take a serious beating being as close to the wheels and under the deck as they will be. if I might recommend something I would suggest a serious undercoat on them to reduce the likelihood of getting banged up and damaged from rocks and such. Something like those spray on box liner materials that are like a Uber-tough rubber compound. plus making them waterproof so they don't fill up with water if you decide to put the snorkel to to good use.
@HarpersShedАй бұрын
Thanks mate, while the back wall is shocking and very disappointing once i make a canopy to go on the tray you wont see it at all. The toolboxes will have to be made very solid like you say they will cop a beating.
@stevenmilsom1Ай бұрын
You could do a wooden back wall to match the bed and ending just under the back window .
@HarpersShedАй бұрын
I think a headache rack with the timber could be in order

Your a great jack of all trades, mate. Be aware that stainless steel is prone to shearing if using self tappers into steel. I would look at stainless machine screws, tap the steel frames, for the screws.
@HarpersShedАй бұрын
Thanks mate. As for the SS i will be drilling and tapping the treads to use M6 countersunk screws so hopefully not issue with snapping them off

@ethanpicken6992Ай бұрын
I can feel the disappointment in your voice when you reveal the back wall warp, I wonder how they get it so incredibly flat on the professional chops? My only real suggestion would be to either lay a layer of matte/semigloss clear over top of the rear wall only so it’s not as shiny, or even underbody coat in the same colour as the rest of the car. It’ll just look like it’s meant to be heavy duty and not seen with the canopy on. Anyway, entertaining watch, and definitely liking the tray and stacks style 👍
@HarpersShedАй бұрын
Im not entirely sure how they get them so flat, painting it with matt clear is not a bad idea. Would certainly help to hide the imperfections
