Hey, Dave! Nibs over at walnut & steel still has the grips you sent. I look forward to installing them on my airguns! That figured set you showed are very nice looking. Nibs has sent me my 132 pistols, and I have been shooting them a lot. I would be interested in a 1377 pump arm or two as well. Can you spare a couple? I will email you about that. Till then keep enjoying the good knife!

I made the video with the hope someone would want all of it. I need the cabinet space! YT hit me on ad suitability so it won’t get a lot of views, even after a re-edit. I was selling the grips on the bay for about 20 a set maybe 15 years ago. I have it all packed in a large flatrate box ready to put on the bay unless I get an offer first? Thanks for your interest!

Cool little knives. I've found examples of the Zippo money clip before. Most, sadly, would be considered concealed weapons here up north. Especially the pen. Go figure. A pen/letter opener combo makes perfect sense, unless you work for the government, lol. Well, no sense there makes sense. Have a great day!

As always, you do great work! Thanks for mentioning my pool cue Hiking Staff. I use the 1-piece & 2-piece ones intermittently. The carrying case for the 2-piece stick provides room for items useful in the woods instead of the usual pool cue accessories! Your walking stick from the surfcasting rod sent all kinds of possibilities rushing through my mind; so I look forward to seeing what I can do with one! 'Blessings on you & yours!
@blademan1752 күн бұрын
Unfortunately I did not get the case with mine. I paid 12.00 for it, don’t know if that’s reasonable, but I don’t find them that often. I didn’t want the surf rod to go to waste as it was broken. I thought about making/finding a small pouch that I could attach a bracket to that fits in the reel seat. It’s light and strong. Thanks again for the ideas, much appreciated!

Fantastic video Dave have question would a piece of hickory make for a good walking stick
@blademan1752 күн бұрын
Hickory is probably one of the best woods for walking sticks as far as strength goes. I use bamboo and Australian Pine, which is a hardwood, because that’s what’s available in my area. Have a great day George!
@davidwhiren8172 күн бұрын
Try your hand with a hickory pickaxe handle aka mattock handle, usually around 36" long, just the length for an average height individual!!! But my friend, be prepared, for this is a true domestic hard wood, that if treated right will give service for centuries!!! I have used these to make walking canes for over 20 years!!! I have been a whittling/woodcarver since 1969, 50+ years!!! & yes, I am a baby boomer/Viet Nam era veteran U.S. Coast Guard, & last but not least a late 60's Hippie arts & crafts person, not a dope head!!!

Hey, this worked a treat for me. Had some rusty files, pliers and a hacksaw frame I'd been meaning to clean up for a good 6 months. The files came out really good, the hacksaw frame is OK, but quite pitted because it was left rusting way too long. I did scrub them with a nylon brush after about 2 hours in, then another 3 hours soaking, then washed and scrubed again under warm running water and dish soap on the brush. Dried and hit them with WD40. 😊

For your walking stick topper pewter products, look at the roll playing game (RPG) miniature market. From Dungeons & Dragons to Warhammer 40000 and more, even gaming artwork like with dragon wings on a staff. People print 3D wax figures then lost-wax pewter casting or silicone-rubber split molds. Lots of youtube content on making and painting them. If you haven't, try making Lord Of The Rings Gandalf styled staff toppers into the "Ren Fare" and "Cosplay" markets.

Your story and hot metal reminded me of my own story --- I was an Army brat, born in Luxembourg to a non-US citizen mother and GI father. Reached draft age in 1968 but was in college at the time. In 1969 they implemented the Draft Lottery. My birth date drew a super-high number so wasn't drafted and no Viet Nam for me. It was then that I walked into a big US Steel plant (Fairless Works, PA) which began what I refer to in retrospect as 2.5 years of Hard Labor Boot Camp (Open Hearth, Masonry) ... Hot, cold, filthy, heavy, dangerous, and back then foremen were old school US Steel civilian drill sergeants.
