Yep, some 'fools' have been known to unwittingly use brake fluid as jack oil, then the standard idiot has been known to use engine oil, but the classic miser idiot has been known to use cooking oil😆 goodbye seals ! All oils are not the same use, clue is on the label. Gaz UK.

I have a sealey 1250cx jack v1. No visible leaks, pumps up ok and holds load. If you undo the release valve slighty it drops immediately and fast. Do you have any ideas on whats wrong?

He may be open to offers of £25,000 if anyone’s interested as he’s had it 7 years now, but anything less than that he’ll keep it. Newly built from Dave Jones Kitcars before they got a cease & desist by Ferrari after just 4 builds they were £30,000. His has the Toyota 3L V6, mine the 3.5L. Since I am here Let me share some infos: There are 2 types of rotation measuring method used in a car... Rubber based magnetic encoders disc.. Metal tooth based encoder disc... Tooth based encoder sensor creates it own magnetic field and measures the magnetic field change when there is a metal part or holo part in the way... Rubber based magnetic sensors measure the magnetic field desnity and polarity of magnetic field... They are different technologies and sensors which they don't mix... These encoder technologies are used in Wheel speed/crackshaft/transmission applications... So not only your speedometer depends on it also your rev meter also depends on these discs and sensors...

How do you get the speedomoter work if you don't have wheelspeed sensors and ABS ?

Hello and thank you very much for this very detailed (and full of humour) video 😂. First, sorry for my English which is not my mother tongue. I could not repair the hook of the belt, as you show, as it broke fully at the point where we have the button closing the hook when it goes back into its emplacement. So I ordered one as a spare part. However, my problem is that when I tried to remove the remaining part of the hook, the whole arm came to me 😢. It will be therefore easy to clip the new hook to it, but I am wondering how to put back the whole arm in its emplacement? I understand that there is a kind of toothed wheel moving the arm forth and back. What do you recommend? Is it better to present the arm in the open position (as if it is presenting the belt), and then wait for the toothed wheel to bring it back? Or push it back inside in the closed position? Another point is that this arm is not straight. It is slightly bent. Should it be really straight, as this part of the car is slightly curved here... So, sorry for all these questions, but I would like to avoid making additional mistakes 🙄. I hope you can give some advice. All the best, knarf from France 🇨🇵😉

I’d like to add that my Jack requires an o-ring with a 3.5mm cross section area. You used a 4mm, which is most probably why you had such a hard time fitting it, and replacing the plunger. 3.5 CS x 16mm I.D O-ring if you want to do a search

just did mine and glad to see you made the same mistake i did. the plunger you removed to replace the seal is fitted backwards, the open slot points towards the front. on mine occationly when the handle is fully upright the plunger gets stuck and twisted. turned it around 180deg and it fixed the issue. worth checking yours. cheers

I don't know if it makes any difference but you put that plunger in backwards. At the beginning of you video the plunger opening is facing the front stationary wheels. At the end. The plunger opening is facing the back mobile wheels.

Looks like Sealey 3000CXD. I have small leak from main piston. I found that they sell full seals kit (I'm just not sure which version I have) I wonder if anyone replaced main piston seal(s) if there is anything to be aware of...

Yep and took me 10yrs to complete. I sold it to Chris Fellows who invested in the original project. Has V8 short block and it doesn’t feel like a kit car to drive. I adored this car so glad Chris is also a great friend and I will still see it and know that it is in expert hands.
