Very informative, without the needless waffle. Straight to the point.

Try cutting an oversize paper, knock a few bolt holes and fit the bolts to maintain the gasket position while knocking out the inner shape and marking the outer shape.

Well, it's one or the other... getting the focus's with the 1.0 and the automatic scares me less cause.. regular automatic... not that damned dual clutch...

So it is a lot better than ecoboost and puretech engines but will not last forever like non-turbo japanese engines for example toyota or mazda.

Hi We bought a 3008 petrol in March 2019. We were very happy with it finding it to be a very comfortable drive and had no problems with it. We have serviced it regularly firstly with the main dealer and then with our local garage who has been in the trade for years, does great work and really looks out for us advising of any work he thinks necessary. We took it for its most recent service (about 85000km) in late January and he advised is that there were issues with the timing belts for 3008s and asked us to check with main dealer on when it should be replaced. We rang our main dealer where we bought the car and were advised it needed to be replaced at 200000km or 12 years. We told our guy this and he didn’t agree and strongly advised us to change at next service (100000km) which we agreed to as we trust him. On Wednesday my wife was driving and the car lost power and stopped without warning - no warning lights, nothing. We had it towed to our local guy who told us the engine was gone and needed replacing - most likely because shards had broken off the timing belt and prevented oil lubricating around the engine- it only has 92000km! He advised us to take it to our main dealer as we should not have to pay this cost ourselves - it’s not right given we have serviced it as required and correctly. We did and have been told our car is out of warranty since March and they are contacting Peugeot Ireland to see what they will do given it’s out of warranty. Has anyone else had a similar experience and how did they fare out? We cannot believe this could have happened to a car with just 92000km (57000 miles) with full service history and especially after being told no need to change the timing belt until 200000km or 12 years back in January! Any help would be really appreciated 🤞 Thanks Dan

Carmakers must keep there dealers happy. So don' t build a too good car. Many little repairs with little parts ( always very expensive in comparison for what it is) keeps your mechanics at work and the dealer in regular contact with the client who, might buy a new car when he is sick of jet an other repair.

Great vid but ditch the music ...... I came on here to learn mechanics not to dance and tap my feet. Talk us through the process instead of of battering us with inane useless music, which serves nothing but looking for the volume button

i'm using a whiteboard marker on the flange surface, and then pressing it on the paper right after. The ink from theses markers are water based and do not dry (or very slowly) so it's pretty easy to use.

The procedure you showed is incorrect! You forgot about refilling the gearbox again to the proper level. There are 2 chambers in the gearbox.

Fantastic guide, thanks a lot. That crank pulley bolt was tight, had to ditch the 6" extension, but came off easily after that. There was certainly loads more room to get that water pump out than my 2.5 T5 Focus!

My strainer was removed former owner. And car cuts out in gear after 15 seconds. I’ve a number scanners. No codes out of it. Do you reckon should check the oil pump rate if scanner will tell me

Exactly what I needed to know at the moment. I'm looking at a fault with my turbo actuator and the garage have quoted £260 for new. BTW 2021 VW 'Approved' T Roc owned 6 months with 12500 on clock. Not covered by warranty!
