As a viet daughter, viet moms typically do not cry AT ALL. Seeing them release the pent up fear snd emotions, was so astonishing. I damn near sobbed like 3 times watching this

Thank you for doing this for this family. We could watch the spark of life happen for her. Side note: there is no coincidence, had you NOT stopped at the hospital you may not have found that lovely woman who led you to her family🙏🏼

Side note, if this is the place I found on Google maps, then these people grew up just outside Danang in the 60s and 70s. Holy crap! I can't imagine being a kid in that area during those decades!

This was amazingly beautiful. I truly hope she moves there with her family. I believe she would love to be with them. I hope it is so. As they say there is no place like home. To be surrounded by your family and have that daily bond helps so much. I hope she is well and that her family is well. ❤️🙏

Why on earth would se wanna go back to the US?! I can definitely get commitments and having to wrap stuff up but TBH whats the alternative? A widows lifestyle in a owned house or aparment or a senior center type living? There shes acrually just wanted to be around, could live out the rest of her life surounded by a super loving family. Sell everything you have in the US and take the money to live there. Genuinely hope her son moves so she does too. Looks like a way better life flow than the constant have to grind lifestyle the US imposes on everyone

my dad and his family were also boat people! his father was a soldier who passed away during the VN war because of a land mine. he escaped to the US when he was 18. it was always very interesting hearing about our family history from my dad, aunts, uncles, and older cousins!

Your grandmother walked 20 km each way - 40 km total - EVERY DAY? And one way with a heavy load of sugar! Then came home to a lot of small children needing her attention - probably had to cook for all of them after that walk, too! And then she had to make moulds at night in Lo Thoi???!!? What are moulds? How could she possibly do all that in one day!! That would kill most people! What an amazing super woman! What a hard, hard, hard life she had. My heart breaks for her and her children - your mom and aunts and uncles. I can’t believe the lengths she went through every day to keep your family together. Anytime I feel sorry for myself, now, I’ll think of the hardships your mother endured. My troubles will always seem so tiny by comparison.

Kyle, you are a wonderful storyteller. This is very touching and uplifting. It’s fantastic that you were able to locate the family. Such a beautiful and loving family, too. So much struggle and diversity to overcome for all the siblings, yet so much happiness and love. I can see this as your life’s calling. You are gifted at finding, reuniting, and documenting once-separated families. I hope you are able to continue doing so.

An emotional journey-I’m truly moved by reunions like this as a Vietnamese. In the clip, I can see the positive change in Ms. Nga after reuniting with her family. Even her two children seem deeply connected to their homeland. I hope Ms. Nga and her family will return to Vietnam to live, so they can reunite with their siblings and extended family. After all, the most precious thing is still the love of family. Thank you, Kyle Le, for these meaningful and heartwarming videos.
