I just found this channel and I couldn't be more happy . Best KZbinr and human on this platform , my dad was adopted and split from his 6 siblings as a baby. He still holds in the pain , I'm going to go let out some tears. ❤️Thankyou this is incredibly beautiful and heals the SOUL.

This whole thing kinda feels like the beginning of a video game. You get there, the first person you meet continues the quest and the next guy says a line like "there was a lot of suffering after she left," while showing you her old house,

When I was 6 years old my dad helped Vietnamese families get help from the local community and the Vietnamese consulate. I have a Korean sister that he helped reunite with her Mother in the 80s. I don't really understand with how strong the Vietnamese community is in the US why she could not go back. When Katrina happened I hosted Vietnamese friends from Louisiana and the community and the consulate worked together to provide food and shelter for everyone. So much so that they gave away all the military rations and cooked food for their own displaced families. To not go back for 51 years with all of the resources available to her, takes an unprecedented level of wilful ignorance. I remember the churches and the shrimp boat community helping displaced Vietnamese find their families with less info than she had. My mother, father and uncle served in Vietnam and I can fully understand the time skip of the 70s to the mid to late 80s but the 90s-2010 there was a major amount of work going on to reunite families. The internet was fully functional in Vietnam before 2000. People used cell phones to communicate with SMS. My brother even works with the consulate and the power companies in Vietnam still and this just sounds like an intentional delay. Maybe she didn't want to be poor and wanted her kids to take care of her not knowing that her family was actually doing ok. They lived in the same house even. She could have found it on Google Earth.

I don't understand why she didn't contact the consulate. I remember from when I was little that many people made it back by reaching out to local community groups here in the states.

Her father says 10/20 years... She says 30. Hmmm, she definitely wasn't a priority for him, betting he never contributed to her upbringing either. I hope he steps up consistently now, but the best predictor of future behaviour is past behaviour... Just being honest.

Kyle your series in reuniting families is so under-rated on KZbin. I believe series like these should be given more attention. It’s also the most successful series on your channel I believe. Keep up the great work - I can’t begin to fathom the amount of work you have to prepare in order to reunite all these families. You’ve healed a lot of pain endured by many families so far and I look forward for your newer uploads on this.
