I'm just now finally playing through Chrono Trigger and this track just encapsulates everything about the experience. Having done most of the story, I really wish I had played this around the time I was playing Earthbound in '95 because I know I would have loved it and been inspired by it the way I have been now.

Don't know if you'll see this but oh my god when I heard this version of Schala's Theme, I started to cry. I never had any music or song that were able to put me in tears before. I bought Chrono Trigger: Orchestral Selections Vol I & II on iTunes as a way to say thank you for making such powerful and emotional remixes.

Final Fantasy had a way of making the boss fights feel like they really were for all the marbles through the music. The first notes of this song hit, and you knew you were in for it.

To paraphrase the old meme: "Shut up and take my like!" Great work on this orchestration. I always wanted to hear this song fully rendered and not the tinny, ear-piercing tones we get out of that little GBA speaker.

I can confidently say, what mitsuda-san wrought while working on CT is beyond timeless, so many remixes, reimagining's and versions of songs from the game, all of them beautiful, including the original 16 bit versions in their original glory... I have become infinitely more sentimental as I have gotten older, so many of these tracks touch me somewhere deep and lead me to tears, both in the beauty of the music itself but also in the way it transports me to times and places long past and far away...
