Its hard to categorize myself since i am a believer of paranormal in general but am very skeptical of almost all paranormal videos. Always receptive though. I absolutely love the debunking videos. I feel like you are super respectful of all groups and their opinions while presenting facts to educate people on media literacy.

1:54:50 To even consider it paranormal requires that it can’t be explained by known natural forces or science (i.e. physics). The fact that it can he explained by known forces means it’s not paranormal.

one thing i loved about ghost hunters, at least in their first season, is how actively they tried to debunk ghost stuff sometimes. i remember one episode they heard a noise and, being plumbers, they just went into the basement to see the pipes to explain the noise. pipes just needed brackets.

Me me!!! Group 3!!!! I believe in ghosts, I don't necessarily believe youtubers lol but I absolutely love learning from your channel!! Even the 28 days haunted, I was so enthralled when I first watched it.. I have since watched your debunking on it like 5 times now and it doesn't get old. Things that seem so obvious that I just took at face value, its nice to become more media literate with you 😃

Assigned Media Literate Via KZbin! Lmao I am group three, for my own and shared experiences that drive me to believe in SOMETHING at least. I do get a little defensive w the obviously fake stuff tho... ^^;; But I like seeing debunking videos bc it gives me more tools to navigate things on the internet and in the world, like you said. It's definitely helpful bc I'm not the brightest crayon in the box a lot of the time. Especially not in the past. Lol

I believe in ghosts. I don’t believe in ghost shows. I love your videos because they’re entertaining and informative; you put a lot of effort into debunking things which I appreciate. I also like to watch trash ghost shows because they’re entertaining and not informative. 😂

You should get into debunking more than just paranormal videos. Debunk alien sightings, false political claims, conspiracy theories, all sorts of stuff. We need more actual critical thinkers out there, especially right now.

I remember telling my friends that I was an atheist and also don’t believe in ghosts. The atheist comment got an “oh that’s ok.” The ghost comment got a “what in the world? How could you not believe in ghosts?!” This was the moment I realized people actually take this stuff super seriously.

Media literacy! Yes. I am a strong believer in the paranormal and have had several experiences I’ve TRIED to debunk for myself. I’m a paranormal investigator, too. Luckily, I know a lot of what to look for, which makes something truly undebunkable as far as I know (lol) even more fascinating. I love your videos.

if they could really talk to the spirits then the spirits would be able to see the cards and cody and satori answer the spirits aren't comfortable doing no they mean they can't do it at all ie i mean cody and satori cause they need to be in control by faking and scamming people watching satori reaction when sam asked about the cards says it all they are not able to talk to spirits at all

I think it's perhaps a little unfair to say group 4 are "Not as media literate as they think they are." I think it's more group 4 makes an assumption that people are watching the content in the context it was intended to be watched. And perhaps making an assumption that you are too. Wait no hear me out! Sure, videos involving straight up scammers scamming, those need to be called out. But let's pretend you're watching Nukes Top 5 and a clip without a known author comes on and it's that same kid with the ashen skin and sunken eyes peeking out around a door way before backing around into an impossibly small corner. You know a spook is coming, it's like a joke's punchline, or a horror movie's jump scare. You know it's coming and the ensuing scare or laugh is a release of pressure. I personally feel a LOT of the content you'll see in a place like Nuke's is exactly that, made to be consumed in context, and in the same way a horror movie builds suspense. And it's a guilty pleasure. A cheap thrill! A little spook on a Sunday morning with a cup of tea and some youtube noise. Debunking content like that has the same energy as watching Star Wars and having someone come up behind you and say "You know it's not real, right?" - and this is where my opinion differs from you own - It's not that they don't know that or think you should think like they do (Though I do think your definition of group 4 has some... characters in those comments), but more that it feels like that little joy has been stolen from something that THEY think is "In Context" of it being, well, spooky entertainment. And I think that's why it can come off very defensive, like they're being spoken down to. It feels like you're actively taking something away from them. Now I'm only speaking for myself here, because yes, I'll be brave and say I am what you would classify as group 4, but I don't know if I agree with your definition per say... Or at least group 5 annoying sh*t I guess! XD But yes I do agree that there are cases where disproving things matters. Scammer's should always be called out, and the onus should be on Nuke's et al to actually make sure they're not pushing misinformation, scams or outright lies. I do think they have a duty of care to highlight and prove that they have vetted their content to the best of their ability, and that everything is purely for entertainment. But I think giving the same scrutiny you would for your opening example clip from your first debunking here, to a 15 second tiktok clip of some girls in an attic getting spooked at the lights flickering (Cue that silly Nuke's Top 5 music) perhaps doesn't deserve or require the same scrutiny (And now there is the whole thing about the fact you obviously don't but there is now a negative bias associated in group 4s and.... yeah) But I'm being "That guy" now ain't I? Either way I hope this didn't come off too a**hole like - I just liked showing perhaps a different look :) Edit: Saw a comment in here of someone saying group 4 reminds them of WWE fans. "Every knows it's fake, but they're in it for the lore." And I think that's surprisingly accurate. Rember the "It's real to me!" guy from years ago? He knew it wasn't REALLY real... but it brought him joy, and constantly being told it wasn't real probably made him feel like he couldn't enjoy it, because that comment was always going to come up. In this case the "lore" is just the knowledge that they are setting them self up for a little fright. I think group 5 shouldn't be "The annoying contrarian" but instead the "It was real to me!" guy.

Ok, completely unrelated, kind of. The pronunciation of John twolfe as "John T-Wolfe" made it sound like "jaunty wolfe" and that's what I'll call it from now on. Anyway. I'm definitely not the person you're trying to reach and teach in your debunking-videos. But I appreciate and am entertained by them nonetheless. 😊

You don’t really think some little snot head in his mom’s trailer who loves your stuff really has “imeasureable respect” for you, do you? YT is a place of insane hyperbole some for, some against. You are entertaining but interrupting our viewing to address comments is silly and doesn’t help. I love your work often.

the "Mr Carlos" thing, I think it's just Juan messing with him. filming the phone with a phone is a first step boomer solution to not knowing how to screen record while on the security camera app. the "cut" could just be lag, I've seen this type of thing when viewing ring live. it's a super weird place for an actual cut, it's not like anything is being hidden or revealed after. also note Juan's other theatrics like crossing himself and the whole "but he's standing right in front of me!!" thing.

Funny side note on Jerry Springer - i live about 1-1½ hours from both Bobby Mackey's and Cincinnati (where JS show used to film). I went to school with this one set of twin boys back in the 90s who went on the JS show. The story was that one twin had taken a bad turn with his life and gotten hooked on drugs and ended up homeless on the Cincinnati streets. His twin brother was so desperate to find him and help turn his brother's life around that he went to JS for help. The show was amazingly able to find the twin living in Cincinnati and reunite them on the show. Turned out that the whole thing was a lie lol. The boys either on their own or with help from the JS show made up the entire story and they went on the show for the $. 😅😅 It was a big "scandal" in our tiny hometown at the time. A hometown that's also coincidentally _right on_ the Licking River which flows north. So maybe they were just evilly influenced by all that devil worshippin' going on on the river 🤷‍♀️😅😅😅
