Lack of connection ...no it's lack of trust. I trust God and try not to forget that the unstable people in charge are beneath Him. I hope Jesus comes soon.

And it goes on and on. The snow ball keeps adding snow as it gains speed rolling down the hill. It just keeps getting bigger and bigger. That is why there is an explosion of the alligator population. It is a very dangerous world with all these wild animals running around except for the weaker ones who just get killed off. Who started the fire and it wasn't me?

It’s a valid theory. Most ADHD theories are based solely on the physiological and biological pov.No one touches more upon trauma and psychological perspective. There are many people who have developed adhd symptoms later in life after going through traumatic experiences. We tend to to see every thing in black and white. Rather than ignoring his pov as completely rubbish, it’s a new perspective to look at and dig into. Maybe there is something.

I also have ADHD ,am also a recovering alcoholic ( sober 16 years ) . I identify completely with Mates speech, especially trauma and impulsiveness. Who's asking you anyway , you said " if you ask me " , nobody is . Thinking with experience , and openmindness outside the box gathers more knowledge i would say .

The guy is a FAMILY MED PHYSICIAN trying to get famous giving his non science based OPINION on issues in PSYCHOLOGY. It's tough these days for primary care physicians, I know, my wife is one (Mayo Clinic trained). This guy deserves no professional respect. Just another KZbin quack. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mICUan-Nf5WNpK8

I have ADHD and am married to a brilliant European educated, Mayo Clinic trained, family med physician who would NEVER NEVER NEVER spout such b.s. like Gabor. She's busy working 60+hrs/wk solving primary care issues for her patients. Full-on quackery if you ask me. So far out of his lane I have to question if he still has a license to practice or if he's depending on KZbin as a way to get rich quick.

We will think and refer to you for many generation, like Nietsche, Jung. You are a revolutionary. I'm from the DTES. I'll be back there when I'm back in Canada doing more advocacy work, specifically working with Nurses and other Healthcare professionals that are navigating addiction and their careers. Had a few ground breaking whistleblowing articles out by CBC calling out corrupt "Addiction Physians" and their huge $$$$$$ conflict of interest in demanding the safety sensitive professional pay huge amounts for treatment and monitoring, no personal choices, forced AA...then the physicians profit huge bc they financially have their hands and pocketbooks in the inpatient rehab programs and monitoring programs themselves. So, they are writing letters to unions saying the patient do and use extremely expensive resources that THE PHYSICIANS THEMSELVES OWN. They have gotten away with this for so long because of fear and stigma. Voices have been muted for decades. Now we are heard. @wesup.org

Maté''s ultimately very optimistic. The suggestion that doctors should ask us whether we are stressed or if we have suffered some sort of trauma in childhood, sounds great on the surface. But in our society as it is this can be used as much against the patient as to help them. The enquiry by an expert into the realm of feelings, I am afraid, often comes with a sense of accusation. These doctors are also warped, and cannot be de-warped by being taught new things! It also assumes that counsellors/psychologists will have a deeper understanding of the patients in front of them. In my experience a fair proportion of these professionals lack any real kindness. The question is, perhaps, whether kindness can be legislated for. And God forbid we get social workers on this track! It is not for nothing that the generations before us were very reluctant to talk about their feelings. Such openness can be used against us.

In one word - No. ADHD is not a disease. It is a neurological disorder. It is part of nature. However it is often misunderstood and over diagnosed.

Are you saying like I have psoriatic arthritis, essential thrombosis, ADHD, anxiety just a mess ! Should. You not take the meds? I used to be a meth Addict, been clean from meth for 10 years. My therapist provider says that’s probably why I used because I had ADHD and was self medicating! 🤷♀️

He doesn’t want to say the C word, but Erich Fromm wasn’t scared to. Capitalism as it is is entirely abhorrent and causes immense stress, breaks up communal living and is a HUGE cause of stress and anxiety. The incessant need of money to survive without a loving community to hold one up is why we’re falling apart.

he’s described himself as left wing before when critiquing jordan peterson. i think he understands that blaming capitalism might turn some people off of what he’s saying because of political implications

@@LilSpitzz I agree.. I just prefer the bluntness of an Erich Fromm who didn’t mince his thoughts. Guess Mate’ would probably also risk losing his publisher and tour deals if he brought it up. He sort of says it without saying it.
