Congrats bro! Any tips for the 1600m to get faster? I’m in the offseason and probably gonna be just under 5:00 flat but I wanna get under 4:45. My race pace in the 5k this year was 5:52 and my first mile was 5:26, where do you think I’ll land? You’re an inspiration going from a 24 minute 5k to the Olympics, it’s amazing!

It's rough out there. Summer means nothing to me bc I just set my treadmill room to 65 with a fan whether it’s 10 degrees or 110 😂😂

I started running while being extremely out of shape in the 8th grade and in the 8th grade I always thought I would never be fast because of my late start. I became the 2nd runner this cross country season without too much work, and now you’ve been inspiring me to put in the work and do well this track season

Your hair reminds me of one of my favorite artists(first thing I noticed watching the NCAA original video), is that where it comes from at least partially. Curious why you chose that style to stand out?

No but I find a lot of stuff lines up like that. I like X if that’s who you mean. People tell me that me throwing my medal was reminiscent of Muhammad Ali throwing his Olympic medal in a river which I didn’t know until after. Very serendipitous.

I'm a girl in my freshman year and my XC PR is 28:30 for the 5k. I'm planning on locking in and taking it seriously next year. :))

Do you adjust incline/pace at all for workouts to mitigate the fact that the treadmill is "easier"?

You mentioned you like my questions, thanks. What’s it like at universities where the primary focus is scoring points through sprinting/throwing/jumping/multi event like Texas to feel like you have much of a chance to shine as a distance runner? When you switched to Arkansas from Tennessee. Did any of your teammates come along or were tempted to come along?
@yaseenabdalla871317 күн бұрын
It is very much on you to be good at distance at a school like Texas. It's possible but if you succeed the support is still very low so it makes more sense to leave if you have really high aspirations. The athletes there were incredible though. All my teammates my age were out of eligibility and all my younger teammates are in different stages of their career. I tell recruits don't give up guaranteed happiness for a 1% chance of being good. Pick somewhere you know you'll be happy and figure out how to be good there and then if the chance goes up from 1% you can weigh other options. I loved Tennessee but I figured my chances were more like 50-70% of being really good if I left so I did. so 1) it's possible to succeed and 2) no.
