What mode do you set it in I'm confused whenever I do it it sounds like a jittery kind of on off sound it doesn't sound smooth when I do filter in

Hey! Not sure what you mean with mode. Probably something ToDo with signal that goes in? You can try playing the same midi to both synth simultaneously. Then it should sound good. Another idea: probably it's weird because the envelope is triggered differently, which would chop up the incoming signal.

That is the left module. It converts midi coming in from a keyboard or whatever to the virtual CV in VCV rack. The same would be true in hardware. You would use module like Hexinverter Mutant Braun to convert Midi signals to CV / Gate / Trigger

Not any more. In the beginning the yellow one was a bit more expensive. But nowadays all are same priced usually. Only the td3 mo is more expensive due to the modified options.

I have the X1850 prime as well, and Not even 3 months down the road of nightly use it pretty much now has boot-up issues where it gets stuck in endless start-up sequence. When emailing DENON on this issue .. customer support is basically a JOKE. "You are to look at their forums for the answers" Even on having their Decks, So going to pioneer when it comes in, for the summer months. I've also had the sc5000 have a failure and it took them over 8 weeks to respond on one ticket and a basic "call our authorized repair dealers" all which said "they do not work on DENON anymore. " . So I had to sell the player and buy another. So bare in mind Denons have nice features that are much cheaper. But at the cost of once your equipment has an accident, a problem or needs a part replaced from nightly use. Denons cannot simply be opened to be fixed like a pioneer, and most people will not touch a Denon With a 10' pole. I guess I can understand why most clubs do not want people to bring denons in.

I'm not sure I understand, which might be due to my inexperience with voltage control. But is the CV out of the TD-3 causing modulation to the waveforms on the Model D, with the Model D then sending the audio back through the TD-3 filter?

Actually the CV out of the TD-3 (which is what the sequencer plays) determines the pitch of the oscillators on the Model D. So basically you get the same notes from TD-3 sequencer from TD-3 itself, plus the same notes played on the Model D. And those feed into to the filter, meaning you can create a fat 4 osc sound. And then you could for sure detune the oscs on the Model D to do more funky stuff.

Is it possible insert signal from env out of an adsr and velocity from midi converter to CV in the same time?

In theory this should work. I have my system in yet another rebuild 😅 so I can't try out right now. What do you want to achieve with that? Having the adsr curve controlled via the velocity as well? Would check upfront how the output of this loklkks like with a scope (if you have one). So the velocity works like an atrenuator for the adsr curve?

If anyone reading this, has done a google search for the Roland EM 101, it's a polyphonic analog "Juno" in a box, which itself without filters works really well using this method (using midi instead of CV). Simply take the mono out, and patch it to filter in on the TD 3 (probably does stereo ? Not sure). The behringer TD 3 brings amazing life to the Roland EM 101 analog polysynth.

Very cool - thanks for sharing! Good to point out: you can literally run any synth/sound source in the filter (given the right voltage) and the filter will add some magic (given you like the 303 filter 😬).

I' ve tried everything I can think of to get the TD3 filter-in to function. I think I may have a defective synth. The online manual is useless. But maybe I'm missing something. I've plugged 3 different synths in, a Korg Volca FM, a Korg Monotron and a Behringer VS Pro Mini. None of them do anything but briefly I think the Monotron was running through the TD3 while running a sequence. This leads me to believe there is a short inside the machine, but I don't really know. Very frustrated.

Hey! What exactly do you try to achieve? Internally sending to the buildin Fx? Or the external one? For external my best guess (without having a chance to get near to my 1850 soon) is that you need to choose external via the fx display on the right and then use it like the others. Probably this needs to get switched on in the Menü somewhere. Just wild guessing atm, hope it helps….

Hey Kevin! I guess so... But I'm pretty much on the simple side of soldering things... But if you can find the and access the right connection print on the pcb it should be possible to solder the resitor somewhere there... However, it's going to be tricky. And if you are not expert level, it's super easy to damage the module. So the cable is the safer path 😬

@@NewElectronicFrontier What I want is what Pioneer already do, you see waveform of the seperate deck on top of the other on each display so you can easily see where you are in the track and if they are in sync. Denon have stacked waveforms on the duel levels on each deck. But you can't stack a waveform from a seperate deck? Makes no sense???

I can't get the TD-3 to play while the Synthtribe tool is on. Why is this, and how have you been able to get around this problem? Is it something to do with the internal clock?

Hey Marco! If you want to use it with the internal sequencer: yes. It takes external clock signals via midi.

As far as I remember it was just a straight forward voice. Nothing special modulation wise.

I think the clamping point resets the waveform via trigger .. so like a syncable LFO? The 921 is a very interesting LFo because when some of the waveforms in this LFO are slowed down (from VCO speeds) the waveform is uneven and make for very interesting modulations. I love this 921 from what I've seen in the Model 15 app on my mac/Ipad. :) Can't wait to buy it.

Yes! By now I got this info as well 😅 and the 921 is really a bargain! With all its options / ins / outs you can do a lot with it. I absolutely love it. If you are looking for a classic moog style osc this is the affordable (and great) choice. behringer did some really good work!

@@NewElectronicFrontier Do you find you have to run the output of these oscillators through a VCA before proceeding with it? The output of the regular wave jacks is about 2.5V and the output of the Aux jack is 5V. The CP3 mixer expects 2.5V inputs and outputs 5V mixed. Anyways assuming you output 5V from these BOOG modules, do you then run through a VCA to boost that signal up to 10V before proceeding to interface it into the rest of your eurorack? I see myself using the 904A module with 921, 921A and 2x 912B. Going to get Manhattan Analog DTM as substitute to Behringer 995.

What is your favorite digital oscillator? Would be nice to have one that emulates all the vintage analog oscilltors.. Moog System 55, Minimoog, Roland 112, ARP etc.. Does one exist? Seems like it should! With the appropriate parameter settings, can the MI Plaits emulate say a 3340 or Moog System 55 oscillator?

Hey Jennifer! Thanks for the good question 😎 I live the Plaits and Braids! Both have a huge range of sound. However I muß admit that I did not Tr yet to emulate a special sound of another oscillator with them. But IMHO you should be able to get somewhere near to the mentioned ones. I mean the more characteristic sound shaping happens later with the very specific filters of these systems. Not sure if it's good enough. Any analogue enthusiast will tell you that they are not near enough 😬 one of the most underrated and kind of my favorite is the Waldorf nw1 - a wavetable oscillator that goes for a bargain price of around 150€ here in Germany. It really worth a look. And if you are willing to invest some time in understanding it and modeling your own wavetables possibilities are endless. Absolutely worth a look.

I been washing your video severalas time, and I still not understand why I cannot found the new Firmware for my X1850, there mixer show up the 1.6 Firmware Version but not even in the Offcitial web page, and then I did the process to update it and now, the mixer just stay turning on with all the lights doing this show at the beginning but that's all......... hope you can guide me........ thank you and greetings

At the end I have to send my mixer to fix, costumer cover the deliver to send it to them and they cover all the parts and the deliver back………..

The TD-3-MO is an incredible bargain… Since you have already “bought in” to the validity of an authentic clone of a vintage rare classic synth. The Mods of a 303 original $$$ynth into the debilfish would be in the thousands of dollars. Versus $200-250 with free shipping. IMHO it’s a no brainer. The only difficulty, really, is learning, taming, then unleashing the MO version. P.S. plus more than double the patch points for synth & eurorack setups = Mind Blown🤯 in a good way

I “learned,” or broke down the proclivities of the 303, by playing with the app Troublemaker by Bram Bos, which adds an LFO, a rate knob, a delay, timing knob, feedback, fuzz, &&& wave folding, to nearly two handfuls of waveforms to a software emulation of the 303. This “understanding” for me, completely, allows me to patch my MO, into hardware without losing the thread, until I want to ;) My first hurdle, after relishing in the utter chaos of the possibilities, was How do it Bark? Then, well, Wanda Wot ‘n LFO do?

@@michaelherleman8200 i found that self patching cv out to slide in or accent in etc creates some nice effects and mitigates the chirp a little or gives it almost pad like features but amazingly feels kind of inflexible...the sequencer while historic is unneeded and would love to see a td3 without it, like an mb33, would be nicer

This is so cool thanks. I have both the Behringer TD-3 as well as Model D. Didn't realize you could do this so easily.. adding 3 extra voices yet still utilizing the sequencer and filter on the TD-3.

Thanks for the vid! I love that you're starting with the basics. In the beginning the learning curve is quite high in VCV. I feel like these videos are necessary to push VCV toward more popularity. There just aren't a lot of people doing this. Great stuff!

Oh, thanks for asking! I did not mention this - it’s the CPU load per module. You can switch that on in the settings. Pretty handy if your machine get to hard working. The modules from vcv are fine, but some of the free ones are pretty cpu intense.
