How to update the Firmware of your Denon DJ X1850 Prime Mixer
In this video, I go through the process of updating the firmware for your X1850 Prime mixer from Denon DJ step by step. Pretty straight forward. The firmware used in this video is 1.2.

how do i get the fx send to work, i up dated my mixer but still not sending out.

Hey! What exactly do you try to achieve? Internally sending to the buildin Fx? Or the external one? For external my best guess (without having a chance to get near to my 1850 soon) is that you need to choose external via the fx display on the right and then use it like the others. Probably this needs to get switched on in the Menü somewhere. Just wild guessing atm, hope it helps….

Hi. I have 2x cdj2000 nexus and a denon dnX1500 mixer I'm hoping to upgrade, ideally to a x1850. Would you know of I can link the cdjs to the x1850 to share the bpm and quantize tools via ethernet. Thanks for the great videos

Thanks for the feedback! I guess (but am not certain) that this won't work. As far as remember I looked it up when switching to Denon back at the time. The network protocols pioneer and denon use are different if I remember right. So they basically can not talk to each other. Proprietary by the brand. Would be a dream to combine stuff freely... Unfortunately I have no access to pioneer players atm, so I can not check it out.

just asking as an outside chance you might still have the firmware ? I've tried getting it from Denton and its of line now - I'm looking for the file to be sent so I can get my denon 1850 out of this firmware stuck situation so I can re-load it

Chances are if it's been removed it's because it's corrupted.. I'm getting one of myself here pretty soon so I was just curious to know if you got clarification or resolution

How u doin man,ive had my 1850 for about 4 mnths now,..the mixer was functioning well..i hooked up to my nieghbors cdjs.after a two days or so the fx didnt work.(they still dnt work)did it have to do with me hookin up the mixer to those cdjs? W/the fx not operating?.what would cause from it to stop workin?

Hey man! Good question... I mean to connect any kind of gear to the mixer is actually its job... Did you try to connect the ethernet connection as well? May that confused the mixer? Otherwise: did you check the menue settings? Possibly something wrong there? I mean if nothing helps probably you can perform a reset to factory settings? That would be what I would try... But as said: pretty weird.

@@NewElectronicFrontier thanks..i didnt use the internet..we used pure usb's after alternating the negetive and positive fx quantize numbers.(didnt have no results) i went to the denon sstandard setting.still nothing.i think im just going to swap it thanks..i will think of ur advise in the future.gracias

Hi, I'm with an unusual question again :), I know you don't work in denon's website. I followed the instructions when updating my Mixer, but unfortunately nothing came of it. It turned out that now no functions work, only the model and software version of the mixer are displayed on the display. And I can't reset to the previous factory settings and all the lights and backlight are flashing. What do you think will be a better solution, service or error search? I searched on the denon website but did not find it. can you help me somehow?

Sorry Andrezej... But that sounds like a case for the Denon support. Only idea: can you set it in Firmware update mode again on start up? And if so: does the software recognize the mixer? Hard to say. If that is not working contact Denon. Did you interrupt the update process somehow?

Hey Bro! My Spanish is quite bad 😬 not sure if I read you right... I’ll try to answer. You can connect the mixer to be used in serato DJ. However you’ll need a license. The mixer comes without one. you can connect to both USB ports. Doesn’t matter if you only have one computer. But afaik you can connect two computers, each with serato to make a back2back set with seamless handover. The USB ports also can be used to record the sound on your Computer. 🤷‍♂️ was worth a try - hope it answered your question 😉

I been washing your video severalas time, and I still not understand why I cannot found the new Firmware for my X1850, there mixer show up the 1.6 Firmware Version but not even in the Offcitial web page, and then I did the process to update it and now, the mixer just stay turning on with all the lights doing this show at the beginning but that's all......... hope you can guide me........ thank you and greetings

Hey! This video is only for the 1.6 Firmware version. There is a newer version (not sure which one it is). And yes, atm it seems there are no firmware downloads available from denon. For whatever reason. So you need to patiently wait for when they make it available again. Which version exactly do you try to install? If the mixer shows 1.6 ready then also the update process for the newer version might changed.

@@NewElectronicFrontier Thank you for answer…… I just talk with a person from Denon, look like the new update’s will be depends of your serial number, not sure completely but look like the update at the beginning cause more problems that fix issues………. At the end I have to send my mixer to fix, costumer cover the deliver to send it to them and they cover all the parts and the deliver back………..

No idea about that. I guess - but you should find this info in the Denon website or in the updater doc. I'm running on macos... But it should be. Win10 is the standard today.
