Another great video thanks for sharing can I ask a question when trapping along a highway do you need permission from the state or the land owner and one more question if you don't mind what do you think is best info on trap tags ive always put name address but some guys say put cid# or license #
@AnArkansasTrapper2 күн бұрын
Never hurts to have permission from any or all that you can. I am working for this city to control the beaver within it. I like that there are options for tags. I run my name, CID, and phone number on mine.

This turning animals loose to fend for themselves after being a pet is criminal and has to stop. If you cannot afford a dog , cat, horse , or any of the others then do not take them and make a pet out of them. Yes, horses are turned loose too.

I agree!

I know you feeling about setting K9 traps! I moved to Arkansas 5 years ago to hunt fish and trap. I have trapped since I was 9, almost 50 years now. I love trapping coyotes. It’s a BIG reason we moved here after retiring. But after moving I found out that most of the people in this part of Arkansas have 3 to 5 dogs per house and most people let them all run loose. So I can’t even set a trap on my own property, because I will catch a dog. Actually I could catch at least 6 different ones on my 10 acres. The sad part is we don’t live next to hot springs or Little Rock. We live in a county that the federal government owns almost 75% of. Not that many people. I trapped in Illinois my whole life and most traps weren’t a mile or 2 from the nearest house. But in all my years trappin I only caught 2 dogs. I guess people in Arkansas really don’t care about their dogs and just let them run wild? Sorry to rant. Just letting you know, I feel your pain!😎
@AnArkansasTrapper23 күн бұрын
I understand the frustration, and it's an unfortunate reality we have to deal with. I honestly believe most do not care if the animal comes back home or not.
@olmilfishrock23 күн бұрын
@ You are exactly right. I know they don’t. 1 gets hit almost every week in the small town we live by. Most of the time they lay there for a couple days before they finally get picked up. Not how I would treat any dog of mine!
@dennisdial787223 күн бұрын
You DO a very good job with those dogs, Put together a video on this issue, it will be good for trapping and your channel. GOOD WORK

Often wondered why you never whear chest waders ? If you do be sure to cinch them around your waste.👍🇺🇸🙏🏽😎
@AnArkansasTrapperАй бұрын
I do have chest waders but tear them up pretty quick on chewed stubs and such. Every pair I have right now leaks to the point I'm better taking my chances with smaller boots. I need to invest in some new ones. I do prefer not using them when I can.

I'd never try to talk you out of doing what you do. Since I've moved up here close to St Louis, MO , I don't really have any landowners that let me come out and play in the cold water and mud. Your determination to recover your equipment reminds me of my own. I hate to lose a trap. Especially not knowing if it has anything in it. May have to travel down to Arkansas sometime to learn something from you. Didn't look like you had much steel soaking that didn't connect on an otter or beaver. More often than not my runs on the line have always been power percentage than I'm seeing you catch. Is that an Iver Johnson you are carrying? Tight chains my friend and be smart enough (as you have or you wouldn't still be around) to remain safe.
@AnArkansasTrapperАй бұрын
Appreciate you. Defiantly not about numbers with me anymore. The least amount of work to get them caught is my motto more and more as I age.
