Great channel. While I may be a bit too old to go back in, but the VA still has my interest.

Brother, if military chaplaincy doesn’t pan out for you, then I would suggest that you look into hospital or hospice chaplaincy. I’m a hospice chaplain. It’s a good ministry to be in. I’m looking to get into military chaplaincy. Hopefully I’ll know something soon. Blessings to you!

Hey Chaps, I just expected a Senior Pastor position and I'm talking with Chaplain Recruiters about reserve. Do you know if I would be able to get Sundays off and go in on a Friday/Saturday for my trainings?

Often yes. I know several that do a Fri/Sat drill weekend, doing office work on Friday, and chaplain ministry to all the troops on Saturday.

life alone is different ADAM HAD IT EASY JUST EAT SLEEP WORK .. if their was a problem with what was created “Adam” than Eve had to be made so alone wouldn’t be bad.. now today it’s preached to remain single (New Testament) lol Did the God y’all preach about lie in his own word? Genesis 2:18-24 King James Version (KJV) And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him. 1 Corinthians 7:8-9 To the unmarried and the widows I say that it is good for them to remain single, as I am. But if they cannot exercise self-control, they should marry. For it is better to marry than to burn with passion.

Hey Chaplain Mcginley, I appreciate all the work you’re doing for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ and our country! Love the new look on the Telecaster. Keep me in your prayers - I’m in the process of applying for the Army National Guard chaplain candidate program as a Church of God chaplain. I have just completed my physical exams and I’ve got a minor medical issue that may need a waiver but we will see. God is in control so if it’s His will I know it will all will work out. Nonetheless your videos have been a huge help in my journey brother! You by far have the best content and up to date information for Army Chaplaincy on any social media platforms that I’m aware of. You are making a big difference in many people lives. God bless you and praying for you sir!

I recently graduated with a Masters in Ministerial Leadership Ministry Concentration from SEU (Southeastern University) ATS accredited, and am about to start MDiv Chaplaincy Military program at Liberty. If my MA from SEU transfers into Liberty University 93 credit MDiv am I good to go ? Or would I need to earn 72 credits from same school “Liberty” to meet requirements ? I’m in the process becoming a candidate right now. Can one switch endorsers once a candidate ? @thetattooedchap thank you 🙏
@TheTattooedChap2 ай бұрын
I did similar; I had a MA in Theology and Culture degree (48 cr.) from Northwest University, and transferred my degree to Southwestern Assemblies of God University’s MDiv program (72 cr). SAGU transferred 42 of the credits. You should be good, but I would double check, though, with your chaplain recruiter. And, yes, endorsers can be switched.

Random question, do you need a degree from the accredited university list or do they make exceptions? I’m moving to Idaho and none of the religious universities are on the list of military accredited universities. Is online school a better option in this circumstance?
@TheTattooedChap2 ай бұрын
The degrees need to be accredited. If you are concerned the school you are interested in may not qualify, contact a chaplain recruiter first. Blessings on the journey!
@PeeWeeHermitGames2 ай бұрын
@@TheTattooedChap yeah I was gonna ask is there a website for that list somewhere? I’ll see what I can do. Last chaplain recruiter literally told me to not try and that was surprising and strange - maybe he was having a bad day?

I am a service member interested in chaplaincy, however, I believe it is unloving given knowing the truth to encourage and aid others in Idolatry and steering them away from salvation. I would love to speak with you in attempt to understand your perspective!
I'm looking at becoming a chaplain for hospice and hospitals. The only thing that worries me is an expectation to cater to other religions. For instance I'm not gonna preach a false gospel, Allah or any other doctrine of demons. Thoughts, advice ?
@TheTattooedChap2 ай бұрын
Great question! Chaplains are to be authentic to their own faith, and offer religious services according to their own faith tradition. For instance, if you end up having a Muslim patient, you are not expected to perform Muslim worship rites/services-that would be inappropriate for both the patient and you the provider. Rather, a chaplain offers what they can in the moment without transgressing their own faith, and connect the patient with a representative from their faith group for things you as a chaplain cannot. Chaplains are not expected to be or pretend to be universalist in their service nor belief (unless they are representing a universalist faith tradition). In this instance, I, as a conservative Christian can offer a listening ear, a human connection, and perhaps the patient would like me to pray with them. I would then find a local Imam or Muslim chaplain colleague, if the patient desired such a referral. Hope that helps.

I hear it’s hard to promote as 56M? I’m in the reserves, currently an E5. Before switching to this MOS I want to make sure it has potential for advancement. Kinda hard to find info about this.
@TheTattooedChap2 ай бұрын
I’m not to sure about the Reserve side of things, but on AD it does get more competitive for the E7-E9 ranks compared to some other MOSs. I’d speak to you 56M at your BDE or DIV level to get a better understanding of the promotion potential in the Reserves.

How to be full time licenced minister in active duty?
@TheTattooedChap2 ай бұрын
Good question! You will be licensed/ordained through your denomination/endorsing agent, and which allows you to be a full time minister in the military as a chaplain.

I do worry about the ecclesiastical endorsement, I was raised Mennonite which is not one of the faiths so I am not sure where I could get an enforcement from
@TheTattooedChap2 ай бұрын
There are servers endorsing agents that provide endorsement for non-denominational or unaffiliated ministers. I think that would be the direction for you to go if there is not a Mennonite-specific endorser. I’d start looking at this list, work your way through the endorsers, look them up online, etc. prhome.defense.gov/M-RA/MPP/AFCB/Endorsements/

@TheTattooedChap2 ай бұрын
Depends on the assignment/unit, but most chaplains/56Ms are assist a garrison ministry that provides services on the weekends. Typically, it is a rotational set up, i.e. one weekend a month. Also, you are often given a comp day for the weekends you do work-but that is not guaranteed.

Do we have a repository (even a Google doc or something in MilSuite) that has a list of all the approved and successful trainings and what is required to put those on? It seems that would be helpful so that we don't each individually "have to reinvent the wheel" (also save time). I know you mention the importance of us doing this but didn't know if there was a place where we have these ideas and details compiled (would be helpful to know what type of training it is, activities, doctrine it is tied to, level previously approved by/at, funding/costs, coordinating agencies recommended, etc.).
@TheTattooedChap5 ай бұрын
That is a great question! Currently there is unfortunately not one that I am tracking. I have sent/shared CONOPS, etc. to countless people over the last few years. There is also a FB group called the Chaplain Captains Network, where myself and others have posted some of their material.

Hi, thanks for the information. A question, would i have to be board certified to become a chaplain in the military?

Great question! Not all! Most military chaplains are not board certified. Most join without being a board certified chaplain, and some later go through the process to become so, and many never do.
