I am an ordained Episcopal priest and decided to take a different approach to law enforcement chaplaincy. I put myself through a 14-month police academy (three nights a week and a ton of weekends), passed all the tests, and received my badge and commission. I then worked in patrol, completing field training. Now I am an investigator, working in cold case homicide and missing persons. My police work is voluntary and around my day job. I believe in chaplaincy, but the challenge of being part of as well as separate from the organization you serve makes it very tough. In being a cop I am able to gain the trust and confidence that would be difficult if I were the chaplain. And my nickname amongst those I serve with? 'Padre'! I appreciate your videos, thank you, Sir!

Ministry of Presence. This confirms what I also believe. That you just not do anything and sit there, be among Fellowship and still have Holy Spirit. Spiritual Impartation.

We are starting a new Chaplaincy Ministry/Program here in our Law Enforcement arena, here in Indiana. After working as Chaplain in a small community in Florida, this seemed like a huge undertaking. Andy reminded me that the ministry of the presence of the Holy Spirit through the ministry of our presence is a huge start and then the continuance of the ministry to those God puts on our path.
