A great video of one of my favourite films. As a child, I had such bad asthma I had to go to a school for disabled children, and later in life I was lucky enough to have the chance to help support disabled students at Uni - and there's so much in this film on disability and peoples' attitudes that rings true. But that's not why I love this film - it's because it's not just about her disability / overcoming her disability, as many films involving disabled characters are. No - and how can I say this - it's because Josee is our leading lady, and she just happens to be disabled (something the film is realistic about). It's a film about two people meeting each other, both changing the other as a result. I often say this is an overlooked gem of a film - coming out during COVID probably didn't help - and would urge anyone to watch it. Great animation, blistering soundtrack - it is so much more than just a 'rom-com' that many perceive. Note also, this was Kotaro Tamura's first film as director; I wish him well for other endeavours in the future!

I don't understand the outrage when it comes to the ending. I watched it and I fucking loved it. It was so much more unique, poignant and meaningful than any grand fighting scene could have been. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

So proud to own the Manga, where Yuki Urushibara gives explanations for what inspired each tale. 🤍💚 Purchased the season one dvd box set back in 2009.. prized artifact to me now. I did have to, painfully wait the decade for season two to be animated....Wonderful job on this video, best one to share for introducing others to such a phenomenal series. 💚🤍

This anime re lit my passion for engineering post college drop out, also made me took up table tennis. now i'm an industrial apprentice who absolutely love the mechanics of spherical shapes (look up top spins, bottom spins, and other serves of table tennis) Ball sports are universal, and i love them for it. Just like Mechanical, electrical, pneumatics, hydraulics and any other systems in engineering are at the basic idea, almost identical to each other. There is always higher-lower pressure, temperature, potential, voltage, bigger-smaller volume, surface, diameter, resistance, so on and so forth it's all parallel and serial. My life was a huge failure just a few years ago, but this anime tricked me into thinking, everybody has their own timeline, and where you would end up, is only the sum of all small effort that you do, even after a failure. So i stood back up, and start small again.

The intro to this video is iconic, even years after first seeing this video I had to come back to witness the raw peak. Seriously this is by far the HARDEST INTRO TO ANY VIDEO EVER MADE IN HISTORY!

Thank you for recommending Rumbling Hearts. This show is brilliant! I think it's one of most underrated anime that ever existed. There are so many emotions between all characters, especially with this old artstyle they had in 2000s, so many emotions they conveyed through the eyes, tears, movements and magic of music, and in addition to that the story is ULTRAREALISTIC. So many people adore Makoto Shinkai for melodrama and realism (no offense to Shinkai, he's very talented in his ways) but they don't even know what kind of gem is hidden in time. The show is just a simple soap opera without any attempts to be complicated but if you try to put yourself in this kind of situation - you see that the plot is deeply melancholic, and watching of these series is like drinking poison, it slowly tears your heart apart episode by episode, every character's life is getting complicated and ruined with every episode until the sad, cruel truth finishes the anime so perfectly that... I don't know how to properly explain it but the ending seems to be so COMPLETED, so polished that you can't even find any way to criticize it. The charming, nostalgic prologue in the first episode. The cruelty of fate in the ED, showing childhood friends and innocence while every episode destroys all this. The moment you see a ring on a finger in the end of second episode and realization of eternal blame that Mitsuki immediately understood - there are so many interesting, deeply ironic things in this masterpiece. And the way this anime has divided everyone in two camps shows how controversial the topic is and how difficult this situation could be if it happened in real life. This anime disguises itself as anime but it's LIFE ITSELF, pure fragment of life. Real slice-of-life, not those corny/cheesy situations that we see today in many romcoms with a lot of exaggerations. I don't think they're bad, but if you want to see, feel something very real - this is the best story you could recommend for any anime enjoyer. I wouldn't say that I'm biased to a certain epoque in anime industry - I like different shows from different decades - but 2000s with their Clannad and Rumbling Hearts were most sincere experiences that made me felt like I have lump in the throat and I just can't immediately return back to normal life after watching such things, they affect your heart strings with surgical precision.

Mushishi weaves sorrow and beauty in equal measures into its stories, capturing that same bitter sweetness familiar to our own lives. That’s why it’s so resonant, I think.

It stuck with me that Mushishi seems to take place in pre-Imperial Japan and Ginko wears western clothes. Seriously: just looking at dude's sturdy boots and pants tells you he's traveled the world and lives in a limbo between the "before" and "after" time.

That was very personal video, I related to it very much. It made me think about the handful of anime that made ME interested in the medium. At first I was drawn only by music on some anime-radio online and picked up the shows that had enjoyable soundtracks. These were not always good shows but that was a journey only I experienced and noone else

Ocean waves has been my favourite movie since the moment I watch it. Partially bc I ignore Rikako and assume (rightfully so) that the romance between Taku and his friend is palpable and should've been addressed.

Finally, an analysis of Golden Kamuy I can respect! Thank you for making this, it kind of hurts my soul how poorly this manga/anime is represented on youtube, I've been looking for a decent analysis for a while now and yours might be the only one that holds up! Thank you for this well-made video that accurately highlights the beauty and unique nature of this story!
