Dad bought our house in Monona in 1960 for $17,000. a three bedroom ranch a block from the lake. Somebody really sold the Nation a bill of goods when the price of houses grew exponentially faster than the rate of Inflation.Circa 1984. It made a few millionaires and made home ownership a Pain In The Ass for many. Hundreds of thousands of dollars for an ordinary home is stupid. That is one thing that is going to change in a huge way soon. The smart thing now would be to knock everything back by one decimal point. The $465,000 home would then sell for $46,500. That is a price that actually makes sense relative to natural inflation. But with the country 36 trillion in debt we are about to face Hyper Inflation if the rest of the economy does what the Housing market has done in the past 40 years. The price of a home is out of balance with the actual value of a home by a whole decimal point. The Correction on that is coming. First they are going to declare a Jubilee on all single family homes. All Mortgages paid in full. Debt wiped out. All Homes will be owned outright. Then they will make the adjustment down in price by one decimal point bringing the cost back in line with the actual value of the structure and the land. You heard it here first. January 2025.

I crashed around Down Town Madison a lot as a child in the 1960s. My Grandfather had an office in the Capitol Building. I joined the army in 76' and never moved back. Your videos remind me how much I miss it. I'm 68 now and a fiction writer living in Wichita Kansas. Maybe in my next life I'll move back to Madison. Monona Grove class of 75' our 50th reunion is this year. I may be up for a visit. We'll see. Thanks.

Madison is about the worst place anyone can live in Wisconsin outside of Milwaukee, why would you choose to live there with all the other places you can live in the state? 😂

Would you say Madison is cheaper than Ann Arbor? I have a PhD friend in Ann Arbor and she says that rent is crazy over there! I thought maybe Madison would be similar as it is also a big university city?

To take care of the politics. If you're blue just stay in Madison or move to Milwaukee, if you're red just move 30 miles East to Jefferson County

Reasons why they don’t leave rural Wisconsin 5. Snowed in 4. Hate people from other States especially Illinois 3. Difficulty reading road maps, a lot of GEDs 2. Waiting on Packer tickets..currently I think 35 years 1. Too drunk to pack, nobody bats an eye if you have a OWI

How can we not talk about the horrible, nosey, cliquey, rude, gossiping people?! Wisconsin was a pain in my arse and every thing else for 18 years since the day my family moved there. If youre not like the people there you get shredded for it.

In Madison wisconson and other big city’s like Milwaukee and Oshkosh you don’t actually see the full joy of Wisconsin. For that you have to go up north to places like big falls and even green bay

Great breakdown of the east vs. west side of Madison! Both areas have unique perks, making it tough to choose the best fit. For anyone moving here, getting settled in the right neighborhood is key - finding local movers who know Madison inside and out can make the transition a lot smoother!

It’s basically the same over here I’m from Hudson, WI 15 minutes out from the Twin Cities, MN everything you guys explained is exactly how it is here it’s funny how almost anywhere you go even in the cities of Wisconsin that there still the same in every category we got so many deer hunters here too and right above us is a county that’s full of lakes and a lot of people from the twin city area cross the bridge through Hudson or Houlton to go to there cabins for the summer time

There's something about the geography combined with the weather that just destroys roads here in Wisconsin. I bet if they were left alone for a few decades, there'd be no trace of them left.

Madison has snow? News to me there could be an issue. Professional jobs are likely not to care if you wear hiking boots to work much of the year = show up on time. Drive Slow please when it does and good tires please. Generally my city doesn't close unless there is an ICE STORM. Stay home if Canada decides to be funny overnight. Case in point; watch the weather news. Have a good day and buy a fishing license please.

Interesting personal fact; if you have lived in both Madison and Austin Texas a couple of times you will find that you run into the same people a few times in both places. Secondly, the mosquitos are helping you in that you have too much blood to survive a winter here with so much. Thirdly, it is one of the best educated places in the whole of the United States. Please have a good day.

I've lived in Madison for 24 years, it's great, I love Madison! I love it, but to just dwell on the few bad things about it for a moment: • the homeless beggars can be aggressive (the city is very safe overall though) • Most mid-priced restaurants are of low quality • Lots of marijuana, lots, it’s everywhere • traffic is bad bc the lakes bottle things up - lots and lots and lots of street construction • Housing and rents are too expensive • Good luck trying to find a dine-in coffee shop open after 8 p.m. - The winters can be brutal, but just like any Midwestern city

I'd like to advise anyone from another state who is thinking of moving to WI, not to do it. We don't need your kind comin in here trying to change things. We sure don't need any more of those dang republicans coming in here trying to take over and tell us how to live. We like to mind our own business and we don't like being told how we should live. If you count the Mississippi river as shoreline WI has more shoreline than CA.

The guy sounds like he could be from WI but the lady doesn't. If you're moving here from another state and from a big city Madison is going to be an easy adjustment because Madison probably has more non-Wisconsinites than any other place in the state. Madison is not typical WI. I sure never though of people doing much hunting around there. I've lived here all my life and I never saw a deer hanging on anyone's front porch. Usually it's hanging from the rafters in the garage. They don't leave them hanging for long.
