I need help. I currently use A6300 with 30 and 85mm prime and I do photo coverage for small events like birthday parties and such. I am planning on upgrading but cant decide. Should I get the new A6700 and sell my old gear to buy a tamron 17-70 f2.8 or should I get the A7iii then buy two prime lenses like 35 and 85mm f1.8 I never shoot videos btw.

I’m fine with the A7 III right now but as soon as I start making money from photography, I’m upgrading to the A7 IV or V when ever that comes out

I would agree, but today the A7iii is on sale at WEX for £999 new... Essentially half price. I still love mine, though I'd love a bit of 10-bit capability for raw video

I've been looking into the Sony a7iii and this video was super helpful, thank you! Do you have any specific recommendations on cameras that are a bit more affordable that do well with video in low light (recording in 4k)? I'm struggling to find the best option right now, I want to use the camera for recording content (tutorials inside my poorly lit gym, and videos both indoors and outdoors) as well as hopefully get some more cinematic looking videos going! I'm just really looking for a quality camera for video and have been so lost!

I agree! A74 of course better.. it’s an upgrade! I bought the a7iii back in September 24 and the a74 was twice the price!! Spend the difference on glass trust me!

I was thinking to go for either A6700 or A7iii as the prices are similar now. I was leaning towards A7iii mainly because it's full frame but the screen is such a deal breaker. I'm going to buy A6700. Thanks a lot for the video.

We understand your point and the age of the camera but the price difference is massive to the A7iiii, the video would be turned downwards to high spec smaller frame instead for the price instead of double up. Ive ordered a new A7iii with 28-70 lens for 1042 euro today. If i wanted a A7iiii it would be double up. Rather spend more money on a A7C.

I got a Sony a7iii and I’ve yet to use it to at its full potential. For entry level photographers it’s great!

It is: I owned one as well; now I use Fuji. But I did not start with a A7III and I would not recommend it when I bought it back then in 2018. But nowadays with the cheaper A7III it is different but anyway I would never recommend full frame for start because of the lens prices! ;-)

£1000 vs £1900 though? It’s like comparing a Toyota Corolla vs Porsche Cayenne, it is obviously better but few people are trying to decide between such different budgets. Realistically if you’re looking at the a7iii, you’re considering the A7C, a6700/a6600, maybe a canon r10 or r8

Day one with my ZV1 I nearly dropped it, so have one of these on order! I think I need a wrist strap too. Good to know that even now at the end of 2024, the ZV1 is still a great camera choice

"cinematic" doesn't exist, there is no cinematic camera. Put the Arri Alexa with shitty lighting and bad composition and it won't look "cinematic" either.

@JackWoodhams But cinematic as a style exists and it comes with a lot of depth and artistic effects, this thing is incapable of doing that. You must be experienced enough I had thought to know what kind of "Cinematic" I was referring to, the Arri is btw a "Cinema" Camera and as far as lighting etc goes, those are the basics of photography/videography so that applies everywhere

@ you can create depth with the Osmo pocket 3 it just depends on what you film and where. And cinematic has nothing to do with depth anyway. Cinematic is just a generic word that describes something that looks filmic, but there are so many different film styles that the term cinematic is a bit pointless because one glove doesn’t fit all.

It's not a ridiculous comparison, for many people they have to consider if the extra $$$ is worth it and what they'd get. For those who don't have the money the A7III is still viable as explained in the video.

@@kouki3409 😳 😂😂 if you like to shoot portrait a lot the swivel screen is a big deal. Have you considered apsc?? ZV-e10 II? Obviously not the same quality as the a7iv but the autofocus would be better than the a7iii

My big complaint with the entire Pocket series is that batteries aren't user replaceable. I just had my Pocket 1 batts replaced by a DJI service center. It would have been great to have a slide in batt like the Action 4 uses. That's the main reason I haven't bought the Pocket 3 -- am done with built-in batts. Good Revew, enjoyed your presentation.

I paired the 12-40mm f2.8 with the Oly EM1 mk2 a few years ago. I still use it as my "go to" lens with my OM-1. I would describe it as, awesome, brilliant, versatile, perfect. I think you get my thoughts.
